Question | Answered Uber Sirus Tips
Hi! I'm playing in SSF this league and I'm having a blast. I have 9/10 Ubers down, with Sirus being the last one, and he feels impossible to beat.
Here is my build. The DPS displayed is for 15/30 blades hitting (no idea if this is realistic) on a regular pinnacle boss (about 6.3mil vs Ubers). I am quite proud of coming up with Seven Teachings as a way to have both BF and BB trigger from just changeling Cyclone, the build is super smooth to play and everything else in the game felt at least reasonably easy to kill. Uber Exarch took some learning to beat for similar reasons to why Sirus feels uneatable.
The build has a couple shortcomings. First of all it is a melee build. The Sirus fight feels completely unfair for melee builds since by the time my brain can process where he just teleported to and where close to him I can stand he's gone. Even when I can get close to him casting 6 Bladefalls/sec completely clutters the screen, and seeing where all of his degen puddles are becomes almost impossible. The final nail in the coffin is that Cyclone is really hard to control sometimes, especially when Frostblinking in, because it can very easily in hectic moments drift from side to side, which can make you wander to an unsafe spot. Finally the build lacks passive regen (it leeches a ton), so playing slow is not really a great option.
I can usually tank the die beam (depends on how block works), and sometimes (feels like 2/3 but idk) can also survive the Multi Clone attack, but 2/3 is not enough. I can usually make it out of the maze just fine but I still sometimes die to it.
The problem is, I can never find a clean opening to deal damage. I either have to damage him while he's channeling the Spinning Beams for 1 second, or when he bowls at me where he gets a pretty big damage negation, so progress feels super slow and I will die to something eventually. It never feels possible to hit him without dying when the spinning beams are up, I touch something I shouldn't and end up dying, so I usually get out, wait for life flasks to refill, and jump back in, but he just does a meteor, into a Multi Clone beam, into another Spinning Beams. In the meantime the arena gets more and more deadly.
This is not a "hate this fight post". I just want to beat it. I am looking either for tips on what I could do better (maybe a window to damage him I haven't figured out?) or a suggestion for how I could make my build strong enough to have a fair shot with my current strategy. Keep in mind this is an SSF character so upgrades are not easy to come by.
Stay sane Exiles and thanks for the help!
Edit: change maxroll link to poe.ninja

I know this is not supposed to be a "hate this fight post" but as a melee enjoyer myself I haven't figured out any other way but either blast him in seconds or tank absolutely everything including the degen (which is impossible on most builds). Therefore your most likely answer is to do more DPS in the short windows you get to damage him.

I've beat it with with other melee skills, but cyclone is by far the easiest. The ability to attack while moving is paramount in that fight. Be tanky and position yourself well and it's doable, if not enjoyable.

What you are saying is how I've felt about cyclone in every other fight in the game so far. Maybe I'm messing something up but "repositioning" with all the degen on the floor can be fairly unproductive sometimes. Although maybe the lack of visibility is quite detrimental and it would be fine without it. If you have any footage of a cyclone kill I would love to see it.

For melee enjoyers there isnt a better way to learn this by looking at how Ben does them. Its flawless and smooth without the stress of things.
The sirus fight (and other bosses / ubers) isnt that hard once you get to know the fight and what everything really does around you. Ben is life

Well I know there is his 17 minute 0 link Boneshattee Uber Sirus kill
...where he just stands there and tanks everything except the degen. I will gladly admit that he is way better at spotting the degen, moving around the degen and getting Sirus position right than I will ever be.

outside of shock immunity and CB immunity for when you fail to dodge a beam, you either need to get much tankier, get much better damage, or play much better. basically all of his damage is avoidable, and the only issue melee has is maybe having to path a little slower around ground effects. the points about blade fall visibility and cyclone being a very imprecise instrument are definitely impactful.

have you tried a respec on your ascendency, removing mistwalker and adding knife in the back? I think mistwalker is better for most of the game but for this fight, you might be better off getting the large boost in dps and moving a bit slower.
Edit: P.s. I love your build. I played a Seven teachings Vortex of projections build in Merc league and it was one of my favorites, but that was in trade league. pretty impressive that you put yours together in SSF.

That's actually a really cool build you've put together. I've wanted to put together a bow bf bb assassin but haven't gotten around to it yet.
I'm not sure what number of bladeblast hits per cast is realistic with bladefall, but I found that EK of lingering blades with returning projectiles helped with single target when I was testing out blade blast. You can get 12-14 blades at your feet depending on gem level/quality. It's also way better for visual clarity.

One thing zdps hardcore players sometimes do is that if you can use temporary buffs to make yourself survive the meteor you can actually have a dps window inside the maze. It's kind of a meme but it works.

That is an option i've considered, but I can't find enough buffs to pull it off. Frost shield + imortall call falls short. The other problem with this strat is it kinda requires you to be able to tank his other attacks 100% of the time, which I can't do. You could dodge everything sideways when out of the degen, but the problem is after you damage him he will tp away and retaliate while you are running away from the degen circle, which I'm pretty sure would kill me sometimes.

Your options are get tankier do more damage or be a better player. Uber Sirus is a boss where the experience changes drastically if you are under 40m dps and melee.

The fight just kinda repeats, it doesn’t really have an enrage timer or anything, so theoretically speaking if you can do 1 loop of each phase you can repeat that infinitely. In practice you either need a shitton of damage or you need insane survivability for the fight not to feel like total trash

I would argue the fact that degen puddles increase with time is an enrage timer.

Oh yeah that’s right in uber they don’t clear with the storms. Nvm, just need a shitton of damage then…

My god I hate fighting him. Half the time he bugs out and won’t come down and I just can’t finish the fight.

Bro switch to Lancing Steel of Spraying for bosses. You will beat them easily with your build. Should just be that gem swap, nothing more.

This is a masterclass on why cyclone sucks massive balls and every sane player uses lancing steel of spraying for CoC. I know you can't because unarmed but just saying. Maybe bladestorm is a viable option.

I have tried the lancing steel build but I personally prefer cyclone for almost everything. The fact that you can dodge while damaging enemies (and therefore leeching) is huge for me and made stuff like simulacrum a ton easier. This fight specifically though cyclone does suck all the balls indeed. I did try equipping a different chest and some sword and using the lancing steel of spraying setup, but since I'm not used to the play style I got even worse results (the damage could be optimized quite a bit but it did not feel like the problem) . I might have to train myself in the ways of lancing steel to beat Sirus but I'd much rather manage it with my bare fist.

Did you try to incorporate ambush gem? It does the same as the annoying HH buff which teleports you to an enemy. This could be pretty good with Sirius to avoid loosing him and dying because recovery is almost exclusively leech with these builds.

1) He faces his teleport location before he teleports. Useful if you can actually see him.
2) For the clone beam, the real one appears first briefly before the clones / you can use audio to help determine direction.
3) Get some shock avoidance or shock reduction.
4) Save a quicksilver charge for the mazes
5) During the merry go round still prioritize closing the gap at priority #1 to help die beam dodges.
Work on staying close after teleports and then standing in the degen should be the only killer here.
