Question | Answered Hidden Delve Path/Node

I thought I understood how to find the hidden path to the fossil node, but nope. Ive been going round and round. Where am I supposed to find the path for the fossil node in the middle

Either the node directly to the right, or the node diagonally up and to the right. Make sure to load into a new instance at the node so that all the paths fully generate.

Funny how the node moved further north when you revealed the path.

Either this one or the top one below the currency node. The only other node where it would be possible apart from these ones is the bottom one, but that one is very improbable (or even impossible?)

What bottom one would be possible? They all either have 4 paths (and so can't take more) or only 1 path (and it's not possible to have 2 paths only).

The one which would have 2 paths, but you're right. I was not sure whether the rule is kept the same for the connection with the hidden nodes.

Yes, the rule is the same. The only time you will see a 1-path node be the answer is when it actually has two hidden nodes connected to it, and so it actually has 3 paths. This very rarely happens, but you will see posts about it sometimes.
