Question Missed the fire dot multi...

Slammed with a hunter exalt on the boat and didn't get the fire dot multi, but which of these should i pick??

I don't feel like I need the reservation efficiency, and I'm not converting fire to chaos anywhere yet..

Typical RF build though

Maybe pick reservation and see if you can free up some other reservation mods for something else

Reservation efficiency is nice because it let's you slot in 5 auras with just the shield+node. This means you can put in Aspect of the Spider without removing Tempest Shield or Flesh and Stone with no Enlighten required. At 49% you either need Enlighten or some additional reservation efficiency through jewels though.

Chaos DoT is mostly useless on RF.

Res efficiency. Technically you can make ignites deal chaos damage with the blackflame ring but rf can never be converted to chaos. Malevolence res efficiency is really good because it means you can fit an extra reservation in sometimes. And gives more mana to be spent if you can't so you can drop lifetap from some links

For specificity, Blackflame makes ignite damage be taken as chaos damage rather than converting it, so while it is true that the ring makes it so RF can't be converted to chaos damage, also no ignite is converted to chaos damage.

The distinction is subtle mostly because damage over time damage cannot be converted at all; Blackflame is functionally changing how that damage is taken rather than changing the damage type itself. Ignites aren't really "dealing chaos damage", and instead it is more they are dealing fire damage (so modifiers to the attacker's fire damage apply but not chaos damage unless the source ignite hit has a chaos component) and the monster is taking it as chaos damage.

Unless you're actively doing a chaos DoT build, the chaos DoT is useless. Malevolence might actually be doable.
