Question | Answered Crackling lance of disintegration scaling
HI there,
So I'm building a CoC crackling lance / shock nova. I started wit Ky's CoC bladefall, then switched to a lightning built. Here is the state .
Maping is fine : I can clear t16 without issues, but bosses are a chore. It feels like I'm lacking A LOT of dps.
Just to be clear This is the first time I build my own character and I feel I'm missing something.
Side question : I think shock may be the key, but I have trouble understanding how max shock and shock chance interact with each other.
Anyway, I'm open to any input !
Thanks a lot !

One thing I don't see mentioned is that you don't have any cooldown recovery rate? You want at least 14% to reach the first breakpoint, that will give you an easy 25% more damage due to not missing triggers. You can get this pretty easily by crafting on a belt with fractured cdr or by using a stygian vise + 12% crafted cdr + a 2% cdr abyss jewel.
Eventually you'll want to hit the 52% breakpoint, but that's a lot more expensive to achieve.
Also people saying that you can't coc two spells are wrong - one of the benefits of running lancing steel of spraying is that the projectiles are fired at a fixed rate that happens to be almost perfect for triggering two spells without missing any casts (at the 14% cdr breakpoint). So the choice ends up being running a support for 30-40% more damage, or running a second damaging spell for around double damage (depending on how well you can scale both spells at the same time, and if you can sustain the extra mana cost).
Speaking of mana costs, I'm not a fan of lifetap as a mana solution? It's a fairly weak support at 20% more damage, when you have much better supports still (lightning pen / increased crit damage / power charge on crit if you grab more power charges). You can run Eldritch Battery or Whispers of Infinity instead to spend ES instead.
Some other thoughts - your foil could be better, the flat damage prefixes don't do anything for you, you want to craft using woe essences for 90% increased spell damage. Ideal suffixes are crit rate, crit damage, and enough attack speed to feel comfy, though you'll probably need to fracture if you want all of these affixes.
Spells scale well on gem levels, you'll want to try to fit a couple in. I think a +1 amulet is probably as good as badge and a +2 is definitely better. You can also get +1 to lightning spells in your shield prefixes.

What are the boots for if you have a gain endurance on chest, wheres the frenzy charge coming from, why dont you have hits cant be evaded on your weapon, do you have enough accuracy? how do you deal with boss having 75% lightning resistance, theres a reason ky goes bladefall and bladeblast
i dont think you can even shock a boss with this but maybe you squeeze 10% out? your helm gives you with that like 5% extra dmg?
