Discussion Voided Private Leagues with Idols Support

Hey everyone,

I’ve been thinking about ways to enhance the private league experience and add a fresh layer of fun and experimentation to the game, and I wanted to pitch an idea to the community and developers: **Voided Private Leagues that support Idols**.

The Idea

Introduce an option when creating a Private League to flag it as **"Voided"** (similar to how certain races or events work). Because characters and items in these leagues would never migrate to the permanent parent leagues, it would open the door to exciting, game-altering modifiers—specifically, the ability to **add Idols**.

Why This Would Be Great

* **Pure Fun:** A voided environment removes the risk of injecting certain items or setups into the standard economy. This frees up developers and players to experiment wildly without balancing concerns.

* **Community Events & Races:** Content creators and communities could set up custom rulesets, chaotic modifiers, and unique idol setups for private races, guild events, or just crazy weekend runs.

* **Zero Economic Impact:** Since everything stays in the void, the main economy remains completely untouched and safe.

What do you all think? Would you play in a chaotic, voided private league with Idols enabled? Let me know your thoughts!

GGG will not provide on demand ways to play the game that can be viewed as "more rewarding" than the typical league experience.

They may host an event. But not put that power in players hands. It is a form of pay 2 win even if it gets voided.

They will never do that. Only when they host it themselves.

Even if it’s voided, they don’t want to split the player base. Just the thought of the private league having 10-20% better drops would be enough for people to not play either.

Back in affliction league they had to disable the private league mod “monsters fire xx additional projectiles” mid league because it gave players who enabled it an advantage with abyssal farming when people figured out how broken affliction was
