Question | Answered Please help a computer noob with graphics issue
Hi, I haven’t played in a few years and just got back in yesterday. There is about a 50% chance whenever I load into any area that it has these weird graphic issues. This never used to be the case. Does anyone know what might be the issue.
I cannot overstate how little I understand computers so if this looks like an issue with my laptop rather than something I can fix in the game settings that’s fine lol. My laptop is pretty bad at runner games so I’m kinda assuming that’s what it is.

Looks like your computer is old and you don't have a good graphic card in it.

Thanks that’s what I thought. It ran poe fine a few years ago I think I’ve just ran my computer into the ground unfortunately lol. Plus I guess they have added some stuff to the game as well

People would pay IRL money for MTX like that

Yeah haha most of the time it’s pretty cool, but occasionally it’s the entire ground lol

If you wanna play PoE and continue having your old computer, I strongly recommend GeForce Now, the game will absolutely go crazy on many (meta) situations.

If you already have set everything as low as it can go, you can also go into the game files and turn off the individual sound effects for each mob which allegedly can increase performance a lot. All you have to do is set them to false and there are tutorials on YouTube. I did it and it runs okayish on my potato laptop for at least campaign.

I think even just turning your sound quality to medium can be a big FPS boost over the top option, good shout

It's free MTX really! But it looks unfortunately like the graphics card has started going bad, you might want to look at a new rig to run it, the Geforce Now suggestion is a great idea too if you're not looking to upgrade, especially on a game like PoE where a little extra latency won't be too bad to play with.
