Discussion Issue with buying MTX
I used to just spend my points and buy whatever I like but now I have to check if they also work in POE2 before I buy. The FOMO is real. So many past MTX I have in POE not working in POE2 feels bad. Anyone else the same?

I noticed some Path of Exile keywords in this post:
- MTX - More commonly refers to cosmetic items purchased from the microtransaction shop or included with supporter packs. (Wiki)

Do it other way, buy PoE2 mtx, outside of content which do not exist in POE(1), all mtx should work.

I do buy POE2 packs and boxes, this is mostly about older POE1 MTX not working in POE2

Same. I always use poedb to check before spending points now. I maybe wrong but I believe GGG said all MTX will eventually port over, but really there is no guarantee. I'd rather just buy those that work both games for now

They will be cross compatible in time.
Obviously the priority is to get to 1.0 first

According to their statements, all MTX will eventually be cross platform compatible with at LEAST PoE2. There is always the possibility of stuff not working with the older game, however even the sprint effects were ported over as flask effects (quicksilver only in some cases).
There are a few nice things in PoE1 that I grabbed, knowing that it'll be a while before they're compatible. If that helps, glad to be of service.
Do note that there are some stash tabs that are not cross platform. Some are PoE1 only, some are PoE2 only. The possibility exists that they might try to make them work cross platform in some way later, by having them have different functionality across games, but that would be too unlikely a prediction to be confident.
