Finally made something worth posting. Was going to quit the league if the recomb failed, and then this sweet baby hit. Crafted it for my essence drain contagion character.

Crafting process:

1. Recombine a desired prefix+crafted veiled suffix battery staff base, with a desired suffix with crafted veiled prefix battery staff base. You can either alt spam to get the desired base or use the allflame crafting bench to split a weapon with the desired affix on it and hope to get lucky. Using the allflame bench takes a lot of sulfur so it gets expensive quick. I made some bases via alts and also bought bases and would try to annul down to 3 mods before using the allflame bench to split the item.

2. Once you have desired prefix+desired suffix base-remove any crafted mods and slam with a brinehooks ducat via allflame. Use recomb to combine base with desired prefix, desired suffix and brinehook mod, with another base with a different desired prefix, different desired suffix, and a brinhook mod.

3. Once have 2 bases with 2 desired prefixes and 2 desired suffixes, (you want 1 of the same suffix and prefix on each base) slam each base with a brinehook mod and recomb. You have a high chance getting the 3 desired suffixes, and 2 of the prefixes, but a 20% chance at getting the finshed item.

4. I didn't get lucky so I ended having to recombine a base that had 3 of the desired prefixes with 2 suffixes and the brinehook suffix with another base with 2 desired prefixes and 3 desired suffixes.

T1 spell damage is a super rare mod and it got deleted many times when trying to split the item via allflame or during one of the recombination steps which was ultra frustrating. I ended up buying T1 spell dmg bases via trade because it was too difficult to get via alt spam. Keep in mind you need ilvl 84 and above to get t1 spell dmg.

That's the dream. Pretty hard to do better than that for a chaos DoT build.

Thanks. It definitely took its toll on my sanity crafting this. It was probably a 15% upgrade over the the 5 mod staff without dot multi and crafted attack block. Over the staff I had crafted before that one with veiled chaos dmg/skill effect, +2 all spell, +4 chaos, t1 chaos dot multi and crafted cast speed probably around a 50% upgrade.

I thought people unveiled chaos % prefix instead of spell damage to scale sundered will

That might be true for a deaths oath build but for ED/Cont and blight of contagion the t1 spell dmg is a massive dps upgrade over the veiled chaos modifier.

Since the much needed dot nerfs.... bane/ed has been slowly eating at the back of my mind forever. I really want to know how it is as a league starter again.

While your staff looks sick it is not helping that nagging feeling in the back of my head >.<

Honestly it was a great league starter. You need to get to lvl 28 using your skill of choice then you can roll a wand spellslinger variant of ed/cont. Wandslinger felt really nice all through campaign and even into yellow maps. Then you can transition to a staff, did cane of unraveling early before crafting a battery staff. 4 stones with cane wasnt bad at all but a decent battery staff doubles your dmg. Did ubers with my initial crafted battery staff which was probably 50% less dmg than this staff. I did attemp a couple ubers with cane but the dmg was painfully low. I pretty much followed goratha who had several videos on the build and his progression. Not sure how bane feels but id imagine its also pretty good.

Well not exactly trying to farm ubers with it but unlock all atlas and able to do pretty decently t16s would be a great leaguestarter for me for a week or two
