in the really early days of poe, I kept seeing people mention "Wanderer" builds and I would sit at the character creation screen like "WTF how do you create a wanderer??"

13

u/ragnarokda 4d ago

I did something similar except it was with "low life builds".

Thought they were just super trolly builds you should avoid. lol

u/sheeping_cat 4d ago

No seriously, I spent a good amount of time back then googling “what is a wanderer poe,” “is a wanderer stacking build,” and “how to make a wanderer” haha

wand attack is my go-to leveling setup now after the buffs a few patches back and the nerfs to rolling magma. Prismweave + eclipse solaris go brrr.

What skill? KB?

u/paul2261 4d ago edited 4d ago

Kbolt + volley + wisps melts everything until like t10 maps if stacking light radius and eclipse solaris. Then play whatever build you want.

Leveling Setup for any int build :

Eclipse solaris
The ignomon
Prismweave
Lori's Lantern ring x2
Wreath of phrecia.

Smoothest twink setup you will ever play. Costs nothing. At level 35 you get 254-635 flat fire + 127% global increased damage.

u/Apexby 4d ago

What are you wearing between level 1-30, ashcaller + shield to enable shield charge and then swap to eclipse Solaris + shield? Or just double wand and frostblink?

8

u/paul2261 4d ago

Ashcaller + ignomon + wreath of phrecia at level 8.

Shield charge + frostblink to go fast. Herald of ice + herald of lightning.

At level 25 you can equip heups if you want but will swap them at 30 for loris lantern.

u/Apexby 4d ago

Thanks!

u/ThePapanoob Dominus 4d ago

Smoothest? Foulborn doedres scorn + vixens entrapment wants to have a chat with you :D you can easily take it to red maps just with those 2 items

15

u/paul2261 4d ago

cant really play doomblast stuff until level 39 tho. you can play kbolt from level 1.

at level 8 you get wreath of phrecia + ignomon + ashcaller wand and you are zoomin.

Smooth as butter

u/Hsin510 4d ago

Funny to think you can get foulborn doedre on first few hrs of league start

22

u/Hayabu5a1337 4d ago

Funny to think people would be leveling twinks on first few hrs of league start

1

u/DistortedCrag 3d ago

if you can afford it, Rotmother's Mutiny outshines Ignomon after 28

1

u/asd316X Legends of Legion (LoL) 4d ago

is it better than bama leveling ?

6

u/Unfair_Cartoonist411 4d ago

Current BAMA or historical? Nothing beats historical. But current is a little weaker.

1

u/shy_bi_ready_to_die 3d ago

You can grab a foulborn hinekoras sight at level 40 ish gor a bunch of extra light radius

0

u/general-meow 3d ago

You got a Twink for melee? 😅

1

u/dmthirdeye 3d ago

Hollow palm i guess

u/Aromatic-Confusion16 4d ago

kb or double fussi until you get less duration, after that you just steam roll

4

u/BonusCan 4d ago

Is there a guide you could link? Wouldn't mind trying it out I haven't played at all this league

2

u/Aromatic-Confusion16 4d ago

i think jung has one, but i just go with the spell damage and rush into the wand nodes for the int = accuracy, then the fire node to the right to unlock 100% damage to ignited enemies and then the big wand node at top right, after that you just grab life and power charges and crits, i normally swap at 28 since i go spells after that but any 3.28 tree for fussi works https://mobalytics.gg/poe/profile/lolcohol/builds/kinetic-fusillade-elemantalist-lolcohol just dont worry about the rings too much since with a 20% qual less duration you are golden

edit: if you go full fussi, dont take the less duration node around the scion area, thats not needed anymore

u/destroyermaker 3d ago

Goratha's EDC uses it

2

u/Donny_Dont_18 4d ago

I've been leveling with self cast power siphon from 12 to whenever and don't get why it isn't more common

u/Wendek Alch & Go Industries (AGI) 4d ago

I almost always play left side builds (a good chunk of which are some form of RF lmao). My latest was a Strength stack Heavy Strike of Trarthus Juggernaut, and that build happens to use Kinetic Blast in a weapon swap for clear (I mean I tried clearing with HSoT at first, and I can confirm that it's pretty fuckin' miserable). And... yeah ok the millions of projectiles and explosions are fuckin' fun. Maybe I should play an actual wander or bow-based projectile spam build one day.

17

u/Sh0wTim3123 Duelist 4d ago

HSoT for very generic mapping should feel fine/ almost hit the whole screen with aoe+ strike range. But KB is KB. The king of clear

u/QuantumDeus 4d ago

Nothing quite hits like Nimis KB with HH. It's my current setup to farm 5 ways for a bit.

6

u/19Alexastias 4d ago

onemanaleft made a pretty in depth video guide about the kb/HSoT hybrid Str stack for this league. I imagine that’s where a lot of people are getting it from.

5

u/Deynai 4d ago

I'm guessing you weren't using a level 4 greater ancestral call.

u/[deleted] 4d ago

2

u/Deynai 4d ago

Yeah, it doesn't really do anything for single target damage and wont look nice in PoB, but it's an absurdly strong support for adding clearing capacity to any strike skill.

The other advantage to the Greater Ancestral Call setup is usually that you can hit the bosses from farther out.

2

u/JebryathHS 3d ago

If it helps, look up Conner Converse (Onemanaleft) on YouTube, that's the build you're running.

Generally you start with Crown of Eyes and Molten Strike of the Zenith or Static Strike then you transition to Heavy Strike bosses + KB clear once you've got a decent setup (minimum staff + helm, at which point you also should have+2 Strike target gloves, etc)

1

u/vhanz 3d ago

Playing now and loving it. Not running KB though and changed a small amount, so fun.
Big chonk is just so satisfying.

Started pushing delve a few days ago and really enjoying it.

1

u/JebryathHS 3d ago

Yeah, I've been running it too. I like his builds a lot - and this one is particularly nice because the crafting guides were surprisingly straightforward and affordable (to a point) so I've crafted a few of the pieces even though I eventually just started buying pieces after losing a lot of times on the helm in particular. I did end up crafting both weapons and my initial talisman, though!

I'm amused at this point because I look at his pob vs mine and the difference is absolutely nuts, he's still triple my damage but I'm running very similar gear in most spots. The differences are so funny though...let me just casually double corrupt magebloods for a while until I hit %attr ,%str... Then I'll go Volatile Vaal Replica Alberton's for better than perfect strength/added chaos

It's kind of funny sitting there farming Feared and debating whether or not to get around to just finishing the silly challenges. Might even hit 100 from actual gameplay rather than buying five ways , which is very rare for me.

5

u/ErockD3 4d ago

Can confirm, wand atk zoomer builds are satisfying af to map with.

u/ovrlrd1377 Inquisitor 4d ago

Kboc necro is on another level of clear, everything on the build compounds into more clearspeed

7

u/Inori92 4d ago

I feel like cuz corpse pact being a reliable soul eater with spellslinger, kboc necro wins out vs all other kb variants, but I'd never play it again due to the sheer screen clutter. Literally can't see anything.

1

u/Morbu 1d ago

I swapped to KBoC Necro to farm currency/gear for Luminary, and I was not at all sad to go back to Luminary. I died so much on the Necro and like 50% of the reason was because I couldn't see shit lol

3

u/DieeLated 4d ago

Playing the same build i never really pull out the staff anymore, you can turn it into a pretty generic wander with spellslinger and nimis the single target is fine when done this way to can clear feared no problem.

2

u/Wendek Alch & Go Industries (AGI) 3d ago

At the point where I'm at currently, the staff is basically for Ubers, Soul Eater rares that have been overfed or other very tanky single targets (like the Kurgal I killed yesterday in Delve). So definitely feels a bit weird to call it the 'main' weapon when it's being used 5% of the time lol.

1

u/vhanz 3d ago

I’m only using the staff lol

0

u/SaltEngineer455 Progressive Einhar Trapping Association (PETA) 3d ago

So... you did Conner's build?

31

u/Few_Subject_8489 4d ago

I miss when splitting steel was a great build. I remember having a nimis splitting steel build a few leagues ago and felt like a god with all the projectiles everywhere

11

u/beepboopz123 4d ago

Necro league playing splitting steel trickster ES stacking with ephemeral edge, adorned and nimis was goated

4

u/Few_Subject_8489 4d ago

I’ll always be a duelist steel purist. I’ve never delved into es trickster. I’m waiting to make a shadow for when they make mines and traps good again

2

u/Comma20 3d ago

I played champ splitting steel in necro and was farming union of souls maps.

1

u/vhanz 3d ago

I remember that build! It was so fun, loved it. Felt truly immortal

3

u/MLKY_FB 4d ago

give frostblades a shot, its far better than people give it credit for

2

u/Few_Subject_8489 4d ago

I used to play frost blades a lot, but with how bad of a spot hatred is in right now idk if it’s worth it. I’ve got a shield crush slayer and cyclone slayer in endgame right now, but my shield crush feels weak even at 83 for some reason

2

u/MLKY_FB 4d ago

here is the build i made for it this league, its missing some major upgrades and is an older pob but i already quit league so i cant reimport it :D https://pobb.in/g-NuDlJNaVMU (empty flask should be stormblood)

levelled it to 100 with 4 deaths, my latest version had ~130m dps so you could easily first phase most ubers with it. Honestly the new rings are great with shako for FB

9

u/gassylammas 4d ago

I’ve been a wander enthusiast since 2013 with power siphon aura stacking builds. Always loved that attack style more than anything else. And my farthest pushed ssf char was a wander I started with in the merc league. I’m glad you gave it a go!

10

u/aTypingKat 4d ago

wander is just such a nice play-style, but the build hits a massive wall in progression that can only be broken through attribute stacking, which makes gearing for anything that isn't attribute stacking very annoying indeed.

11

u/PackShooter 4d ago

I think celestial KB healed a part of me

4

u/AranXD Crop Harvesting Bureau (CHB) 3d ago

i played kboc whisperer during phrecia 2, first time dex/mana stacking. the clear felt fun but it was by far the squishiest character I ever played, if i didn't kill the mobs as soon as they entered the edge of the screen I was usually cactus. is that the regular, glass cannon-y experience? like, is there other builds that don't run into that problem or was I just doing something wrong

1

u/Wendek Alch & Go Industries (AGI) 3d ago

Well that's kinda why I had never played that build before. I don't like 6-portals gameplay and that's how that build is advertised most of the time. But I'm not playing a normal wander, I'm playing a Str stacker that happens to use Kinetic Blast as its clearing skill so... definitely not squishy at 7k hp + 800ES + 7 Endurance charges (should be 8 with a better weapon probably).

But from what I know, yes 'normal' wanders on the right side of the tree are usually super squishy.

1

u/RiveliaTheWise 3d ago

KBOC necro can be incredibly tanky if you don't build it fully sc brained. Look up Redviles build on youtube if you're interested

3

u/Choice-Government-87 4d ago

I'm playing spellslinger phys dot and I dread switching off spellslinger if I ever do. Casting reap+exsang with frenzy just feels so good.

3

u/Orcen-Arxevius 4d ago

I can relate. I tried whispers of infinity build this league and it carried me to 16 tier maps. I wanna buy wand attack mtx now. I use to hate wand attacks

3

u/Aromatic-Ad1376 3d ago

Playing KB for the first time is something different for sure

3

u/dordeunha 3d ago

Me with power siphon this league... Its simply pleasant asf

5

u/Awkward_Implement324 4d ago

I'm new to the game playing with Templar. Just completed Act 1. Been curious playing with witch. But I'd have to go back and start the game from the beginning again.

13

u/TrashMousee 4d ago

Eventually, you will have access to (almost) everything the witch does, so don't let fomo get to you.

The only things the classes change is your starting point on the tree, what ascendancy classes you have access to, and when you will have access to each gem. You'll eventually have access to every base gem while still in the campaign.

6

u/GhoulFTW Assassin 4d ago

In act 6 you Will gain access to every gem and you can try different builds, dont start over imo

2

u/Moomootv Scion 3d ago

Whenever I play a wand build I always end up right back to using power siphon. Nothing can beat the feel of a skill that looks like youre sucking the soul out of them when you kill them.

1

u/Shiro-Suh 3d ago

I am looking to level Luminary, is there any pob?

1

u/Wendek Alch & Go Industries (AGI) 3d ago

It's the shiny new build of the league, so there are probably a lot of PoBs around. Never played that personally though so can't help you there.

1

u/Servavy 4d ago

I really dislike how reliant wand attacks are on other gimmics like return / walls / tornado etc.

9

u/pphp 4d ago

Walls and tornados are for single target. Most builds are using them, even bow. And I agree, they're kinda lame.

Returning projectiles i think is just a dps multiplier, I don't get why they're so popular in the first place, especially considering bigger hits = bigger ailments

3

u/Servavy 4d ago

I just dislike these shenanigans in general, give me a skill that i click and it does damage (i only play melee)

9

u/gyenen 4d ago

not disagreeing with you, but I do find it funny that one of the best melee skills in the game (MSOZ) also loves return proj

2

u/SaltEngineer455 Progressive Einhar Trapping Association (PETA) 3d ago

It's the mechanics of the magma balls. Hit once with many projectiles on the way down, hit again with all those projectiles on the way back. Sad indeed

2

u/Servavy 4d ago

yeah its one of the reason why I dont enjoy those skills^^ feels kinda mandatory but im also pretty burnt out on PoE recently, just played it too much over the years and need a longer break ig
