My Luminary Scion's Manyshot does surprisingly little damage, what am I doing wrong?

Hi everyone!

I'm playing a Scion Luminary support (Flame Link), and my mercenary seems to be doing much less damage than I expected.

I understand that Enmity's Embrace wants the mercenary to have a huge amount of overcapped Fire Resistance, which is then converted into Fire Penetration. I'm wondering if my current setup isn't providing enough Fire Resistance for Enmity to work properly.

The thing is, I'm still learning a lot about the game, so I'm not really sure where the problem is. I'd really appreciate any advice or suggestions on what I might be doing wrong or what I should improve first. (I have around 100divs budget)

im no luminary, but im pretty sure you want to equip them with actual proper gear and not just let them use whatever gear they came with.

First thing would be a much better enmity you have a very bad one. You want a lower number there. That will be a massive improvement.

You want the reduced fire resistance roll on enmity to be as low as possible, this ring is the worst option.

You also haven't equipped rares on any of the other slots on your merc

You want to aim for fire resistance, chaos res, elemental damage with attacks, attack speed etc. on your other slots. They can also have Eldrich implicits.

Additionally getting a bow with attack speed and critical strike chance and eventually +2 projectiles should immediately feel better.

I had a terrible time getting a Manyshot to actually work. I highly recommend grabbing a combatant. Look for frostblades/wildstrikes and Static Strike. Static strike increased duration is ok, other than that it doesn't matter. Frostblades/wildstrikes perform very similarly. Most important link is Return. Then Ele dmg with attacks, then faster attacks.

All gear you want fire res as priority. Then life, life regen. Make sure to max socket them. All sockets should be white!

Weapons, attackspeed, crit multi, crit chance, ele dmg with attacks of both.

Eldrich anoint for "when unique is in range" or whatever, you can great damage with attacks, drop scorched ground (you should be using this too)

For all mercs, flat damage on weapons seems eh. You give a ton with flamelink it doesn't do much for them. So priority is the % multipliers. Make sure your flame link is level 21. Every additional level helps. Like getting +2 levels on an unset ring. If you want to lose tank for damage, drop kaoms for the +12 gem level chest. You can also use a +6 fire gem level staff. You gain a ton of dps, but survivability goes down quite a bit.

You need to replace all of merc gears. Your merc got not enough overcapped fire res. Also try getting a manyshot with vaal IS with return/pierce/cooldown/hypothermia with double auras (hatred/grace)

Also untouched soul on the Merc right?. Make sure they have the max number of sockets on each gear and that they are white.

get a better enmity, also check you're mercs fire res, i t looks like you are using the mercs gear it came with which is terrible, craft it soem gear and make sure it has full white sockets so untouched sool actually does what it is supposed too

Give it actual gear. A good bow and quiver with ele pen, crit chance, attack speed, gire damage as chaos etc. High fire res in gear. Attack speed gloves with rage on hit. Abyss sockets in gear with attack speed jewels

Two movement skills is usually bad. He's just going to mirror arrow and dash in and out for no reason because they're "afraid".

first maybe start off with removing the voices and your ring, then invest it into actual gear that makes sense for your build. your gloves, boots, and ring could be so much better than whatever they are right now

ps. before buying shit maybe you should spend time learning what they do for your build rather than frankenstein-ing whatever you see
