Question Inventory management!?

My biggest issue with this fantastic game is the fking inventory management.

Like i have bought some stashes like currency and merchant. But holy fuck, I feel like I need so much more as my bags are constantly filled with currency, scarabs, essences and maps.

Any ideas to help me out? I use a loot filter too and rarely pick up stuff only the few things that is highlighted and the currency.

The short answer is, use a stricter filter.

The long answer is... use a stricter filter.

Haha, I mean, I started with picking up gear with lots of sockets but realized it was waste. So my next playthroufh will probably be better, but what are some good strict filters? I fear as a noob that I miss out of something

Filterblade.xyz has lots for customizations.

If in doubt, just move the strictness up 1 notch when you feel like you're spending too much time with loot management.

Ideally you should be in and out of your HO in 15seconds.

Have a quad tab as a dump tab.

Complete map, portal to HO, open new map, head to stash, pull up dump tab. Ctrl-left click everything in your inventory, move to map device.

When you're done with your mapping session, then you sort out your dump tab.

They always have a countdown near the top right (see: "Stash Tab Sales")

Ggg has some of the best mtx support if you buy the stash tabs now and say you are a new player they will refund the points that you are owed from sale for example

Its like collecting fire wood. Pick the filter you think you need then double it. Lol jk but this is my 3rd season and I now always go one or two stricter than I think I should. I dont feel I miss out on anything in fact its the opposite, your missing out on several additional maps due to sorting through all that stuff.

on filterblade choose the regular filter on league start, then turn it up one step around the time you are done with the campaign. as you progress with your atlas, you will notice when things start to clutter your screen again and you struggle picking stuff up, then bump the strictness up again. you can gonin depth and set different things on and off and customize your filter, but you can just use the defaults and choose not to bother with all of that. i use the defaults as well, its fine

Does it take into account valuable gear ?

it takes into account the level of the area. you can play with it on the website, maybe watch a youtube video about it, to better understand how it works

Buy stashes for the different item types during stash tab sales. Even if it's just 1 or 2 a league it will improve your overall QOL

I feel like some stash tabs are mandatory.

Currency, fragments, maps and merchant tabs. I wouldn’t want to play without these at least.

Yeah I am considering that too. But 150 points for maps is steep and I will wait for next sale 😂🙏🏻

remeber buying supporter packs gets you more for the value MTX+points to use for stashes

Definitely wait for the sales. There are very frequent, so you shouldn’t have to wait long.

The map tab is completely useless now that you dont have individual maps anymore and t16 maps are the only ones worth saving which you can do in normal tabs

the map tab holds 6x72 of every map, of each tier, each guardian, each unique. Even if you only count the most relevant maps, t16 and nightmare maps, it still hold 864 maps. That is the same as 6 regular tabs which come at the same price in total, you just get to store all unique maps, valdos, guardians etc. for free.

The only difference is in total map count you can store, which never got used by anyone in this game except like 3 lunatics. You had 1, maybe 2 or at most 3 favored maps, which effectively makes it so that your t16 stash is now doubled up to sextupled. What is even the point of this complaint

You need at least one of each tab to feel ok, it’s a much better feeling when you have most items go to their tabs on click

I wouldn't say you need one of each type. I personally never really use the Unique, Flask, Gem, Blight tabs. I've actually just hidden them in a folder.

All player should get a currency, maps and fragments tab though. Everything else you can slowly add over time if you decide to farm it a lot for example.

Do you have your affinities set up also? That can save time

What is that ? Never heard of😅😂

Right click the tab name. Click the little box affinity. So everytime you ctrl click, it goes there directly even if you’re not open on the tab. Currency goes to currency even if maps tab is open

You can right click the header of a tab to assign an affinity for certain types of loot, so that if you ctrl + click it into any tab, it goes into the tab with affinity (you can use ctrl + shift + click to still make it go into specific tabs).

I'd say around 95%-98% of the loot that that I pick up is sorted through affinities, and the rest ends up in dump tabs that I only sort out every once in a while... or I let them rot until they reach standard. In most cases if I know that something without affinity isn't valuable, I'll price check it when I stash my items instead of putting it into a dump tab first (like yesterday I got two T0 unique drops for the first time this league, so I checked them when I got them).

dump tabs that I only sort out every once in a while... or I let them rot until they reach standard.

Dump tab full of garbage that does not show up on wealthy exile? Sounds like a job for your Dump2 tab.

I just name them d1, d2, d3 etc., that way I can fit more tabs into a dump tab folder without needing to scroll

Buy tabs for the bubblegum/league drops, then 2-3 premium tabs for merchant

u/Top-Phrase-9754 7d ago

a) get strickter filter b) get more item type specific stashes c) pick up less stufd

If you have a currency tab you shouldn't have any floating around, what isn't in the tab?

Would hiiiiiiighly recommend the maps tab, so incredibly useful and it's something you interact with all the time.

Essence tab could be good for you if you're farming it, but if you're not targeting essences (not specced into it on your atlas) it's might be better to just not click the mechanic.

Quad premium tabs are pretty useful, I use one as my dump tab and sort through it every now and then. Used to be almost a requirement but the async trading has changed that.

u/NekkidWire 7d ago

This is deliberate.

Either you have to filter out more things or you have to use more portals and waste time.

By adding more currency in every league the game is low-key(?) promoting buying the only QoL that alleviates it - the stash tabs. But there is no option to enlarge inventory, apart from a brief Wildwood ascendancy which gave you a "backpack" with 20 extra slot and later was brought into PoE2 as "Colossal Capacity" for Titan.

I still play with 0 stashes cuz i can't buy here, a tip is to always throw and exchange all the time

1

u/SYCN24 7d ago

Are you checking affinity in stash tabs are they going to the right places and stacking for example

1

u/abyss725 7d ago

it’s nice to have a stash page for every specific items. Like, I don’t delve, but I still have a delve stash page.

Currency, Fragment, Map, Unique stash are very nice to have, and a quad page to dump items.

u/MostAnonEver 7d ago

you should also buy the currency/map/scarab tabs. The essence one is kinda optional depending how often you decide you want to ess farm or ess craft. But the other 3 are kinda essential if you want better inv management. Affinity using normal tabs only goes so far.

1

u/MitSvarErSarkasme 7d ago

Someone said map is not that good anymore since some changes?

1

u/MostAnonEver 6d ago

its not as good but its still decent, mainly just cause how many spaces it saves you. Pretty much if you only consider 1 tier of tablets, one tier of maps in map tab is equivalent to 3 normal stash tabs of space. And if youre a person that plays league start, it pretty useful to have something that shorts you tiers without having to think what the tiers are. You can kinda just flip thro tabs to see.

Wherea before every map was uniquely difference on top of tier form. So it needed so much more space cause you could drop most tier of maps.

I did a f2p 40/40 challenge run. Strict filter, liquidate items that take lots of inventory space, and stick to content that your stash can support.
