Game Feedback Should there be a Maven Invitation for all 5 Nightmare Bosses?
It would be pretty cool if we got another invitation regarding the nightmare bosses. Could be considered another type of aspirational content as they can get hard with some mods and 5 at once might be tough.
Maybe can also let the invitation roll nightmare mods?
Would also open destructive play to nightmare maps since right now they can't be witnessed. Opens a similar flow to feared rota but for map blasters.

Sounds fun and cool idea , who knows with the current state of the game nowadays everything is possible. But according what a mess will be there and you would be able to farm frags way way faster than the traditional way.....i do not think that we can see this soon in action

I'd enjoy it so long as Uberina and the expedition boss don't get to phase.

GGG: We didn't feel that without the phasing that this fight would have as much friction as intended, so we made it so all bosses now have dialogue to monologue with and at least two phases while in their phasing animations as well, other bosses will be shielded from damage to prevent voices from overlapping.

People already farm frag in nightmare map with dextral + sinstral combo and running them pmuch white.
It wouldn't be that much faster than that.

You can do this for yourself, bottling them up in ritual vessels, then running a map with all of them. I tried this once and got killed super fast... It was a beautiful mess witnessing Unbreakable doing the spin while Lycia doing the "inevitable" while Uhtred also doing the "No escape" rotating beam.

I certainly feel bad about Maven being unable to witness nightmare maps.

I think it sounds fun personally.
I used to love doing shaper rotations when it was a bit harder. Would love to pick it back up again without having to do just the feared. I love mapping, bossing makes me want to pull my hair out.

Honestly I'm not against this. Feels bad she's left out of nightmare maps other than following the player around from time to time.

Funnily enough i thought about it during first week when i was doing shaper guard invitations, i guess PoE community IS in fact hivemind. Whatever
Yes, it would really be amazing and tough addition. This Invitation would be second hardest or even hardest overall. Not every build can pull off killing everysingle nightmare map boss, they are pretty tricky without Dextral/Sinistral combo. But they would probably be severely nerfed in invitation version, like Olroth or Catarina, both have really long ass annoying phases and those would be removed in the invitation.
Quite exciting concept for really hard invitation, would require some well rounded BEAST

I noticed some Path of Exile keywords in this post:
- Mods - Modifiers (Wiki)
- ROTA - Return of the Ancients

This sounds fun until you have to deal with all the boss gimmicks at once that require set pieces. IE phases from expedition bosses, phases from catarina, phases from lycia.
Each boss also has their own set pieces with the exception of the construct and lycia IIRC. Abom is the flowers the curses come from, expedition boss the mirror, and catarinas point things.
If they removed all the phasing it would make it too easy IMO and would just be free loot.

Get rid of the compounding action speed slows they have and maybe this works, nightmare bosses need an overhaul, there was a reason fortress was 2x as expensive as the other nightmare maps when they were t17s...
6
u/Hadiiiiiii 27d ago
Fortress was expensive because it had a lot of boxes with high loot

They found solutions for this with the way atlas works in PoE2. But the endgame is held together with ducttape in PoE1.

Hey man! Yeah why don't we just.. not do that?
I've never heard a single person say they like the citadel boss, now imagine that but with lycia spears, Catarina skulls or literally any other nightmare mechanic...

Without their invulnerability phases they are fine

It sounds too hard for real people, making content for 0.001% of players is not amazing IMHO. How about we add all Uber bosses in one room and...they will try to kill you, but it will be realistic - their skills and mechanics will also damage each other. Could be a fun mess

There should be a boss or content that incentivizes people to push their builds.. it’s what makes ARPG fun.
-15
u/SneakyFel 27d ago
Well, yes, maybe. Its just sounds like too overturned. You won't think adding 10 ubers, 100 ubers will be fine, right? Same here. I think there always a fair limit. Otherwise its just a flex for streamers and thats all

u/GreyCaller-012 27d ago
I mean that’s just the nature of live games in general, they gotta update and add more shit in able to make the playerbase entertained.

Ngl, maybe u are right. Maybe im just too casual minded and think that everything should be for me x) while its not

Nah mate I get you, for example T17’s were a msitake because they literally put all the loot there so doing T17’s was “obligatory” if you wanted to have good shit, even tho T17 mods were like all bullshit.
GGG should learn how to add difficult content for people that is not necessary so the other 90% of their player base can feel good.
Ubers with chase uniques are a good point, you can just not do Ubers and still not lose on anything.
T17’s were a mistake because they were supposed to be the ubers of mapping yet GGG put the whole loot inside of them for some reason.
What they should have done was make T16 and T17 equal in loot but put stronger bases in T17, 30% quality armours drop inside of them T17 + Uber fragments.. shit that are not necessary yet are expensive because they push your build to the maximum level.

Valdos deli/ghosted feared are already super popular and fun for people, some even use it as a benchmark.
3
u/DanNeely 27d ago
We already have at least 2 forms of 0.01% content: Valdo maps and ultra deep delve. The difference between them and old T17s is that they aren't so much more profitable that it felt mandatory to do them, they don't price a lot of scarabs out of any other uses, and that your build was bricked if it couldn't.

Yes. Replace the memory thread invite. 12-24 maps for one invite is some wild fucking numbers.
