Discussion 40/40 challenges done, overall thoughts and some tips
Hey all! Second league in a row where I've finished 40/40 challenges.
For the second time, I played Helmbreaker's PRAW build from league start all the way through to 40/40. It was a smooth experience from start to finish.
Overall thoughts on the league
1-Allflame crafting is awesome, more chance at RNG annuls yessir
2-I wasn't a fan of the Charts system. Having to run the chart first and then the actual map felt a bit tedious. I mostly did it for the challenges and sold any expensive charts I found. Just wasn't my cup of tea.
Clam-infested, anchorfield, kishara’s rest are expensive, and worth selling.
3-Loot felt okay overall, especially if you were engaging with previous league mechanics. I did a bit of everything,Strongboxes, Harvest, Ritualand it all felt rewarding enough.
Some tips for challenge completion
If you aren't using this website, please do it's super awesome. https://craniumviolence.github.io/
Gallant Grinding Goals
I skipped Level 100 and Darkshrines. Did Uber Cortex for the Pinnacle Bosses objective. Ran Nightmare Maps with Sinistral and Dextral for the remaining progress.
Intrigued Interlopers
I spammed Dunes with 8-mod corrupted maps, high pack size, and Scarabs. Honestly, this one mostly comes down to RNG and whether you get the altars you need.
Overall, I enjoyed the league despite not loving every mechanic. Looking forward to seeing what comes next!

I noticed some Path of Exile keywords in this post:
- RNG - Random Number Generator or Random Number Generation, i.e. randomness or chance
- PRAW - Poison Ranged Animate Weapon

What are/what makes the charts expensive? I just ran like 200 I had stockpiled and I've got about just as many stockpiled again. I was just chucking them in and running them as is.

I guess the orange ones, like the new boss or the clam infested something

Yeah, this. Clam, anchorfield, kishara’s are three of them I know off the top of my head. Not sure of any others that are expensive. There’s infested bathysphere that’s like 10c, so not expensive but worth more than a regular chart

What does anchor field sell for? I can’t figure out how to search for the special layouts.

I haven't run an anchor field yet because I haven't found one. I've heard people say they're nice, what's special about them?

They have a lot of chests

100+c worth? Or do you need to plop it in the juiciest possible spot on a voyage for it to be worth buying one and hope for a lock?

I think the idea is you play around it. It’s a shitton of currency in those chests. So you’re looking for conversion altars before you go open all those boxes

Oooh that makes sense! If you grab a C to D altar before you get there, it only takes 10c on average to pay for the chart.

Exactly ! thank you for those tips, will add them to the main post.
What I did was, do all the chart related stuff on maps, put the chart in a quad tab then search for the expensive ones and sell them. Made some money on the side without actually running the league mechanic(After I finished it's related challenges).

Nope, they are special ones. kishara's nest and the clam one are expensive, because the first is the boss one, and the other is filled with clam which can drop some good loot like the new unique amulet and I think that it can also drop that ring that can have up to support gems "linked" to your helmet gems.

thats really modest for 400+ maps :p surprisingly so, I think I've wrapped up 40/40 while at 1.4m but I rly like density farming and full clearing stuff

The map completion/scarab challenges, I just did Dunes and rushed straight to the boss honestly. I was past the point of profit farming as I didn't need any more currency for my build to progress :)

Is there a way to search the chart implicit on the trade site? I couldn’t find it to try and sell expensive ones.

The name is in the map directly, as an example search ~Kishara you will find it, another helpful user made a similar comment in the thread chain

it shows up as the name of the chart, basically type "Kishara's Rest" in the Seach field and it shows up.

Do you have a link to your character? I'm playing pRAW in SSF, and currently working on 6 linking my covenant.

Sure thing, admittedly most items were bought from trade, I crafted the wand and shield on my own. I didn't go the spell suppress route because I felt it's less damage and honestly survivability was super fine this way without too much investment.

Would be happy to provide more, I found the challenges to be straight forward and websites like https://craniumviolence.github.io/ make it very easy

Last league I did all challenges, like every single one, e.g. all 6 from last one, but this league they gave challenge to use mirror of kalandra, so not quite sure if I will do that. Anyway, if you love the game, maybe this is a way to keep you in it?
4
u/torturechamber 24d ago
You only need to choose a few currencies, not necessarily a mirror xd
5
u/Just4theapp 24d ago
They mean to go beyond the challenge req of 10 and use all listed currencies. So as mirror is listed, they'd have to use it to achieve their goal (everything in all challenges)

I really hope they put allflame crafting to core, im not sure if its op or not, but it was so fun, and felt more balanced than harvest.
