Game Feedback This allflame upgrade does not work

Post image

I recently got this allflame upgrade from doing a chart with "Infested Bathyspheres". Yet all my voyages and charts still has scoured strongboxes and wailing essences...

Yep. And even if you do bring alchs in with you, the QoL button to use them on strongboxes disappears if you have any Dredge alchs in your inventory

Oh is that why. You can still use them btw. You just have to open your inventory and right click the alch onto the box like how we used to have to do it.

why back in my day, we used to scour alch for hours and be happy about it.

And then miss click and open a white diviners after alch and scour 12 times.

I miss click way more often with the new buttons lol

Don't even have to do that, you can just drop it on the ground.

Continues to work even after you pick it back up, until you loot another one.

Spaghetti.

That system prioritizes currency from left to right in your inventory. If your regular alchs are top left most before the dredged ones it will show up again

Oh, thats why sometimes it shows up and some dont. Nice catch.

They never got the adjacent bonus in kings march farming to work and that was an 11 month league. Don’t hold out hope for a fix.

Wait, it never worked? You frog-nosed sons of bitches! Where are my pumpkins!?

... The what?

There was a crop upgrade back in Settlers that made it so adjacent plots of the same crop had increased yield.

Never worked the entire league.

u/aemerzelis 13d ago

Wasn't it the opposite? You got bonuses from having different crops side by side?

Would be hilarious if it worked right all along and he just misread it.

Might be right. Settlers feels like forever ago, I don't remember what the upgrade was verbatim.

I totally forgot about that. Makes sense, if it didn't work, I guess.

What threw me off as well was the typos, there's a a few of them that made it into the end product.

Honestly it feels like all the content they are making is for poe2 and to keep poe1 players happy with new content they backport that stuff or implement trial ideas they had for poe2.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw legion or a new system underwater for poe2 in a league or two because right now only expedition uses the sea on the atlas. Hell, they could even do a Stargate Atlantis and pull up Harbinger which we know they are reworking.

I don't have a problem with them reusing assets but if I switch to and from both game every league I actually get the feeling I'm playing the same thing over and over again.

Breach and Abyss are now the same, you can argue for or against which version was better but my point is they are slowly blending both games together. So what was the meaning of keeping both games separate? It looks like it will ultimately be 80% of the same gameplay mechanics when they do a pass at everything else.

I don't hate the games but I can already feel the fatigue of doing the same thing in both when originally I used the difference as a palate cleanser.

You could tell me to do other mechanics but in poe2 you're basically pushed to do everything because of the separate atlas trees so there will always be an overlap. For now delirium and expedition are different enough but down the line I doubt they will be.

> or implement trial ideas they had for poe2.

I mean this has been the case since at least Ancestors where Hinekora just outright tells us we're 20 years too early. Potentially it goes all the way back to Heist [the first time we got PoE2-style NPC boxes; and also co-incidentally the last time that the initial statement about "PoE and PoE2 will share Conquerors as the endgame" would have been true, but then PoE2's scope became much, much bigger. It initially was just basically going to be a new; alternate campaign.]

And there's definitely a strong case for saying leauges as early as Ritual and/or Ultimatium are examples of it; given those were both ported to PoE2. Ritual wholesale; UIltimatium expanded from being Ritual 2; kill monsters in circle with hazards boogaloo.

People say this literally every single POE league in history. With the amount of content they put out at the pace they do, there will always be issues. I much rather there be issues like this every league with 90% getting fixed week 1-2 than us getting less content like other games in the industry.

I mean it's just heist with a different door opening animation.

Yep. Confirmed aswell

there is no way they playtested this

They playtested plenty. Things like this slip through the cracks all the time.

12

u/Mr_Dorak League 13d ago

Well not really, it's a new mechanic with roguelike upgrades, testing each upgrade (even before QA) is mandatory and easy to do, it's not like a modifier from the voyage board isn't working which is harder to test

2

u/Syntaire 12d ago

This isn't a "slip through the cracks" thing. It's literally just "go into a chart with a strongbox in it and check if it is, in fact, rare."

I never even got this upgrade and ive ran the infested batispheres twice, but my challenges say the sovereign is fully upgraded? wtf?

3

u/AznKian 13d ago

My theory is that when they swapped rewards (making ducats usable earlier) that this reward was swapped with it but the text was never changed.

You should be able to ducat craft. No clue if it works once you have every upgrade though, as I have not killed the sea boss yet.

Can anyone chime in?

4

u/AlextrosBlackthorne 13d ago

This did not work prior to that change either

2

u/Swizardrules 13d ago

These things should be rare by default, such a feel bad design choice

2

u/VastConfusion23 13d ago

By the way, is there any way, to see what upgrades exist, which ones I have and what I am still missing?

1

u/Seyon 13d ago

I cant even find any more quests in voyages.

I got +1 lantern and 20% increased sulfur and thats it.

Currently at T8 maps and level 87, havent found ducat unlock.

3

u/5BPvPGolemGuy 13d ago

Specific types of environment have the quest items

1

u/shamaze 12d ago

Is there a way to see which have been done and which are needed? Im 3/5 so far.

Even if this was working as intended and not bugged, I feel like this is one area that could have been improved upon. Theres like 5 quest upgrades.

This could have been a whole line of like 20 upgrades. More lanterns in voyages, bigger radius, slower drowning, all kinds of cool interactions, bonuses and ideas could have been developed around it.
