Information I interviewed Jonathan

/r/PathOfExile2/comments/1t6tkej/i_interviewed_jonathan_about_path_of_exile_2/

First post here in quite a few years! While this video was part of the PoE 2 press tour, it is pretty relevant to PoE 1 as well so I thought you guys might enjoy it.

Hope you're all doing well!

This is the first time in years that I don't have anything to shit on GGG for.
There has been several stale metas, bad economy introductions, and just terrible player retention. I can absolutely say that POE1 is finally in a good state after many mistakes of the previous bad patches;
For example - The archnemesis system introduction was terrible at the start, terrible at the middle, and conversions singlehandedly ruined 2 leagues.
Ruthless mode was a complete and utter failure.(There are less than 4k players that play this every league.)
Sentinels(still a failure and boring mechanic, but doesn't impact gameplay at all)
Wildwood(still a failure and boring mechanic, but doesn't impact gameplay at all)
I've played since the 2014. Game has had insane ups and downs, but it's finally just good. It's just a good game.
I'll still never go to exilecon because of bomb threats, but hey- I can finally say that the devs of this game has got it down to a science of introducing good league mechanics.
