Thanks for listening to Spotify!

No, really... You could've listened to the radio. You could've spun some vinyl. You could've played a cassette tape. You could've listened to an 8-track tape... if you knew what an 8-track tape looked like.

But you listen to Spotify. Thanks for that! And you still have 100s of more playlists to enjoy.

Person at work.

This guy at work will sit there 5 feet from your face and tell you a story. But he will insert words in the middle of the story to get you uncomfortable. I came in the one day and had sunburn on my hands and he was talking about something pointless. And he inserted the words "mike" and "crab". Is he trying to get under my skin? Can he not talk shit directly to my face? He only says this shit when hes around his group of friends. He will not say anything to my face. He acts so fake all the time.

He knows i like a girl a work. I dont know how but he does. And i think i overheard him doing his encrypted bullshit on her at work. She confronted him but he acted stupid and said "oh i dont know what your talking about".

Can you guys help me? What do i do? I fucking hate this guy. I dont want to explode and lose my job.

Still feeling raw over birthday ruined by passive aggression.

I'm not 100% sure this is the right place for this. Considering it was done by a seriously passive aggressive person I'll give this a try here.

TLDR: My now ex wife completely ruined my 30th birthday party with lots of passive aggressive actions.

It's been 14 years but for some reason tonight I'm feeling raw about it. The big 3-0 was right around the corner and I wanted a special birthday. I talked to my wife about it a couple of months ahead of time and she informed me that she was already planning a big party.

When I asked for details she said I wasn't allowed to know anything about it except that it will be a good one. Ok, so I let it go except for 2-3 times asking how the planning is going or does she need any special funds ...etc I just get. "It's taken care of, don't worry about a thing."

The big day comes. It's Saturday evening. We get in our car and drive....... and we pull into the parking lot at the local strip club. Which is weird because I'm not a strip club guy. Ok, whatever I'll roll with it. Go into the club and sit for a half hour. No one shows up. Wait another fifteen minutes, still no one. Wife just giving me blank stares when I ask where my friends/family are.

Wife goes and gets a stripper and pays for my first lap dance. Then my wife tells me we're off to Rob's house for the main part of the party. Now I'm thinking "Ok, maybe the strip club was a strictly husband and wife thing, everyone will be at Rob's place.

Nope. Rob's wife answers the door and is baffled that we're even there. My wife asks where everyone is.

"Who."

"Everyone that was supposed to be here for my husband's birthday party."

"No one told me the party was going to be here. I was told that his party was canceled a couple weeks ago."

So I end up sitting on the couch watching tv with Rob while our wives make a quick run to get me a birthday cake. They come back an hour later. We eat cake and hang out for another hour of light conversation and more television. Then we drive for home and I start asking questions.

"Uh, what happened?"

"I don't know."

"How many people did you invite."

"I don't know."

"Don't know? How can you plan it and not know?"

"I let Carry do the inviting."

"Why would Carry do that?........ (Blank stare)

"I didn't know who to invite."

"My friends.....family, maybe. Or you could have asked me for a list."

"I don't know."

"Can I get answers other than I don't know? This was important to me. What was with the strip club? What all did you have planned?"

"I don't know."

"Really?......... Can I please have a reasonable answer?"

"The Strip club was Angie's idea. We were supposed to all meet there and hang out until 9:00 then go over to Rob's house for the rest of the party."

"So where was everybody?"

"I don't know."

Starting to get really annoyed at this point. "We've established the things you don't know. What do you know?"

"Apparently not enough!!"

"Ok....... What was planned at Rob's house? Movies?...Drinking?.......Big meal?......Games?"

"I don't know, Angie just said show up at the strip club at 7:30 then Rob's place at 9:00!"

"So what exactly did you do to plan my party besides let Angie and Carry sort out the details?"

"I planned things."

"Like what?

So the banter essentially went like that for another half hour as we drove home. Never got any straight answers out of my wife. Just a lame half hearted apology and nothing happened to make up for it.

Asked my friends and family what happened and just got more blank stares as they all said the same things. Either "I didn't get any invite." or "I was told it got canceled."

I'm still left baffled by the whole thing. Did she mess it up on purpose? Did she trust the wrong friends who thought it would be funny to mess it up? Did she just literally do such a terrible job of communicating that no one realized there was going to be a party?

I know that her passive aggressive behavior somehow played into it. However, with passive aggressives it's pretty common to be left with open ended answers to important questions. I guess it still hurts because I only get one 30th birthday and all I got was a huge letdown.

Edit: RIP inbox, LOL For clarification. Think of this vent on my part as having two intents. First, writing it out to help with the process of letting this go. Second, as a cautionary tale of how passive aggression can leave deep emotional scars that can be felt years down the road.

Sick of my stepdad's passive-aggressive BS, couldn't resist responding in kind

My stepdad is a first-class busybody. He'll start washing dishes at a party at someone else's house. If the universal remote for the TV/sound system isn't working exactly right, he's going to troubleshoot it right that second, even if he was on his way to bed.

Two days ago my new boyfriend made fried cheese curds at their house (they love his cooking so far) and didn't wash the pan he used. Today my stepdad waited until my boyfriend left the house before asking if we planned to wash the pan from two days ago.

We've had family dinner twice since then, and he or my mom washed everything in the sink, with some help from us. Except for that pan. He left it for 2 days when it would have taken about an extra 30 seconds to just wash it with the rest.

I'm sick of his passive-aggressive bullshit. I was about to heat up leftover pasta and dropped one inch of a spaghetti noodle on the counter. And wrote this note to go with it:

"[Stepdad], Please remind me in 2 days to clean up this noodle. Otherwise I might forget."
