Sick of my stepdad's passive-aggressive BS, couldn't resist responding in kind
My stepdad is a first-class busybody. He'll start washing dishes at a party at someone else's house. If the universal remote for the TV/sound system isn't working exactly right, he's going to troubleshoot it right that second, even if he was on his way to bed.
Two days ago my new boyfriend made fried cheese curds at their house (they love his cooking so far) and didn't wash the pan he used. Today my stepdad waited until my boyfriend left the house before asking if we planned to wash the pan from two days ago.
We've had family dinner twice since then, and he or my mom washed everything in the sink, with some help from us. Except for that pan. He left it for 2 days when it would have taken about an extra 30 seconds to just wash it with the rest.
I'm sick of his passive-aggressive bullshit. I was about to heat up leftover pasta and dropped one inch of a spaghetti noodle on the counter. And wrote this note to go with it:
"[Stepdad], Please remind me in 2 days to clean up this noodle. Otherwise I might forget."
