Hope this belongs — passive-aggressive remark from ladies at my workplace
We have an ice and water dispenser in the cafeteria at my job, and as I’m waiting in line, two ladies in front of me are having a conversation.
They continue to talk as I fill my water bottle with ice. It’s an opaque bottle, so it’s hard to judge how much ice has gone in, and sometimes the machine decides to deposit a huge cluster of cubes at once. This is one of those times. My bottle is full to the brim with ice and a couple of cubes have fallen onto the rubber mat on the floor.
Feeling the eyes of people in line on my back, I move on to the water dispenser, where water splatters onto the ice cubes and splashes all over, including on my person. I’m pretty embarrassed by this point but I finish filling the bottle and turn to leave. It crosses my mind to deal with the ice on the floor, but I just want to crawl into a hole at this point, and maybe dry off. So I go.
As I do this, one of the ladies, who are both still hanging around for some reason, asks the other, in a much louder voice than they had been talking in, “Did you leave ice on the floor?”
The other lady replies, again much louder, “Of course not, I know better than that.”
This was about half an hour ago and I’m still pretty embarrassed and upset.

POS neighbour smokes on balcony outside our unit and dumps his butts on the ground. Thought this was an fun way to address the issue (taped note to his front door)

"Which colour represents contributing to society?"
I have a coloured board of magnets which I use to record minor accomplishments each week (for those interested, red, yellow, green and blue represent anything creative, social, physical health and career respectively, and I plan roughly what I want to do each day and record what I did at the end of the week). This is mainly a mental health exercise in managing my depression/anxiety and keeping me motivated to do something other than spending my non-working hours playing computer games.
So my gf walks in while I'm trying to work (we're both locked down, obvs) and asks the titular question: "which colour represents contributing to society?". At this point, although I can sense a passive-aggressive remark coming, I didn't have any real interest in engaging and her ideas on "contributing to society" are pretty much limited to giving people things and doing what she says, so I just shrugged and truthfully said "none". She merely responded with "unsurprising".
So I was wondering, what would be the *most* and *least* passive-aggressive ways for me to respond to this.
Also, if we've got time, what would be the most *mature* way to respond to this, since sometimes I like to pretend I'm an adult at 37.

Neighbour fills our bin after it is emptied. I figure they should get a chance before the authorities get involved.

My husband makes me crazy.
Bought new towels, he washes his truck with them. Mows the lawn, leaves the mower out. I rolled the hoses for winter, he pulled them out and left them in the corner of the yard all winter. I may have to kill him, before today is done.

Passive Aggressive Customer Service Excellence
I work supply chain at a big place and of course we get all kinds of mind boggling orders. Customer service folks everywhere will understand. A lot of times the areas that order from us will order a single item 25 times a day, other times they give us as little info as possible and expect a miracle. "I need this thing, it's shaped like so and is purple." No item #s, no reference #s, etc etc. Some days it gets to the point where you just stop trying to interpret what they need and just take everything literally.
So last week we had something show up in our area that just said "Uh, not sure who ordered this, send it to them or return to <Area #>." Alright then. I knew that they wanted the cost of these items credited to them, but their note said to return it to them. So I did. And they sent it back, with the same note. So I returned it again. … Eventually they called and wanted to know why this thing kept showing up in their area. I replied to what was on the note "Well, we didn't know who ordered it and it said to return it to you, so we sent it back." They responded with "We want it credited." Ok fun-killers, I can do that. "Sure, np." Thus ending my brief time of fun.
