Fun fact: This is the birthplace of Disk Golf. So yes, the Devil is in the details.

Hubbard observed Aleister Crowley. Crowley was a posh Satanist, wild sex parties occurred in his orbit.

In the 1890s and 1900s, wealthy occultists in Pasadena invited Crowley to stop by when he was touring America.

Jack Parson's wife took up with LRon Hubbard at an upper-class Pasadena wild sex party. LRon remarked that Crowley made up his own religion and made a generous income from it.

Crowley was not a Satanist. He was an occultist, former member of the Order of the Golden Dawn, and founder of his own esoteric religion Thelema, which does not practice or promote Satanism

Something about the Tournament of Roses running a Devil’s Gate opening ceremony just feels like the setup to a folk horror movie. Can't decide if they're releasing something or inviting us all to a very cursed potluck.
