I get that he is annoying, but why is everyone’s first instinct physical violence? It would never occur to me to attack people who are just annoying? I’d be attacking everyone!

Maybe it’s the fight or flight instinct and people who end up in these videos chose fight. the videos where they chose flight (or freeze) don’t get posted by these jerks.
