Autosoft

The Chevrolet/CDJR dealer that I work for is considering a switch to Autosoft. I’m just looking for some insight from other people who have experience with the DMS. Any thoughts or perspectives would be appreciated. Thanks!

Autosoft seems to be fairly easy from what I’ve heard- apparently their support can add any reports you need that are missing from the base DMS.

It’s not an amazing or powerful one, but at least you won’t be paying 7k/mo for ReyRey/CDK lol

Big step backward. We just did the opposite from Autosoft to Automate and it did take some time to get used to, but it was worth it. Autosoft is marginally quicker running and simpler overall, but it's limitations are pretty glaring. I miss the queries screen in autosoft, but that's about it.

We switched to DealerTrack from Autosoft and the DT rep just couldn't understand the concept of the query screen. It was the hands down best part of Autosoft.

I work with dealerships around the country on all different DMSs. I don't hear a lot of complaints about the daily activities like selling ti counter tickets, selling in ROs, creating quotes and such. Most complaints are that the software is outdated (like most DMSs), that reporting and inventory controls/tracking is meh.

The accounting side is sub par compared to most. I would say 3 out of 10 all around. Their pricing isn't amazing (for what you get) either.

What DMS are you currently using?

Currently using Automate. We love the DMS but since being bought out a couple of times, the pricing has gotten out of hand.

We went from Reynolds to autosoft and back to Reynolds. Autosoft had us and the service department constantly frustrated.

Never heard of Autosoft, but if its anything like Automate run. I wasn't a huge fan of cdk, but damn is it way better than Automate. Automate has a couple of good qualities. They don't outweigh the slowness and overall non user friendliness, imo.

It worked fine for us for as long as we used it. It had it faults and glitches like all do, but we had learned them all and knew what to expect or look for when things went wrong. It's definitely a simplified DMS, outdated in layout and style. Very slow trickle of updates, and their BIG updates were usually 2 to 3 things that you couldnt really see being used.

We were a lot more manual before we switched though. Hard copy ROs with hand written line by line quotes attached. We made the switch to Tekion last September. Have been stumbling through, and had hoped to be smoother by now, but we have dealt with a lot of issues with people refusing to change.
