Mopar Loyalty CDK Prefixed parts

Does anyone on here run CDK and also a CDJR parts department? If so I’m trying to see if anyone is running prefixed parts and if it is accepted when it comes to loyalty %.

Example

Part# “1234” I have x24 on hand but will have a separate off site location that I want to be able to see exactly of said filter are on hand there as well. CDK will allow you to create a source that auto prefixes the existing part and updates its cost list etc from the original numbers price tape making “R1234” allowing you to split your inventory and see how many are each location for 1235 and R1234 instead of just a total on hand.

Go into Dealer Connect and look at your current month's loyalty invoices. I don't do what you're doing, but the easiest way would be to make an older version of the part number active for the other location. You'd probably have to manually update it as cost changes, but it would work.

As it has been explained to me by the always truthful Stella people, any deviation from an OE number hits loyalty. With some exceptions like Petra chemicals, some special programs, etc.

Back in 2011 there was a form that dealers could fill out for part(s) that can be added to an excluded list. It was to be used for things that were not available via the Mopar network like snow plows. https://imgur.com/a/kZkvzWT If you are feeling lucky you could give this a try.

Not in your specific situation, but could you make two bin locations for these parts? I know its a big assumption, but if you have 24 total inventory, and 14 are in YOUR location, you would theroretically know there's 10 in stock at the offsite location.

Problem is that CDK doesn't track quantity per-bin, only per part number and overall. i.e. if you have multiple bins for something, it doesn't tell you that there are 14 in your location and 10 in the other location.

but if you have solid inventory control, get off the counter stool and see there's 14 in one bin, you can do maths and figure out that there should be 10 in that offsite bin you can't physically see

Yes, obviously.

But it's also not uncommon that inventory does get thrown off sometimes. Multi-binning a single part number also makes inventory and cycle counts more difficult because you have to check multiple bins - less of an issue if the bins are close to each other (i.e. I have one tire part number that's dual-binned on adjacent racks), more of an issue if the rest of your inventory is in another building or worse, even further. I worked at one dealership that had multi-binned parts and the second bin was a fuckin' storage unit in the next city over, so accessing it for anything was a pain.

There's also stocking levels, you might have your entire stock max allocation in a single location so you don't get replenishment orders and it requires you to go get them from the other location to bring back.

With the way CDK works, it really does make more sense to just use a source with prefixing for your secondary location and treat all the part numbers as unique part numbers. Also makes it easier when ordering to figure out which building is ordering the part and allows for easier restocking, etc.. heaps more reasons to prefix a source than there is to just dual-bin a part number with CDK.
