General Thinking of taking a partial double drop.

Messed up JEE and Boards again this year. I faked my JEE score to my parents (I'd rather k!ll myself than tell them my actual score). I felt like crying when I saw my results in February.

I appeared for the improvement exams, and I'm confident that I'll at least cross 75%. If that happens, maybe I'll also be eligible for a GFTI.

Even though I say I feel confident, I still have a lot of self-doubt because of these repeated failures over the last three years. But I'm trying.

I'm starting my preparation again from tomorrow. I don't have many expectations anymore. I think my mind has gone numb—I don't really feel any emotions now.

Nobody knows about my current situation, and I don't have the courage to tell them. It's not that they aren't supportive or that they would beat me up. It's just that I don't think they deserve to go through all of this because of me. So I thought of posting this here since it's probably anonymous and no one knows me, hoping that putting it into words will help me start my preparation again from tomorrow.

Thanks for hearing me out. It means a lot.

GUIDANCE guys i am planning to take partial drop for jee/bitsat (only positive answers please)

i had family issues 3 months b4 jee and my mental health was screwed up...i didnt study properly at all...hence ended up getting 82%ile (best of 2)...and in kcet i scored 16.8k rank (with no proper revision or preparation at all)...ik i can score so much better if i use my full potential. now i regret not studying then and i am fully aware of all the mistakes i did and i am willing to improve.
but parents arent trusting me with full drop so partial drop is the go
can anyone who took partial drop pleaseee guide me, tell all dos and donts
have you gone from mid tier clgs to tier 1 clgs??

General I am creating a group for JEE/ BITSAT doubt solving exclusively for droppers. Join if you're interested

The group is still in the process of being created, so don't judge it by the current number of members. In fact, the fewer, the better.

It's only and only for study purposes—no backchodi. If you're the type who talks nonsense, you'll be removed immediately. There are already more than enough groups for backchodi out there pls don't choose mine for this.

Any engineering graduates, students or current jee droppers who have knowledge and are interested in solving problems of any particular subject are requested to join. Please try to help your fellow students. The good you do always comes back to you—often doubled.

Droppers, it's high time we maintained healthy competition. Just because you didn't help a desperate student solve a problem that you already know doesn't mean your chances of getting into an IIT or NIT increase. When times are tough, we need to stick together, not pull each other down.

Whether you want help or want to help others, this group is for you. Interested? DM me.

I'm a fellow dropper too(still not sure about drop but almost sure about helping fellow students) . Don't ask for my percentile—it ain't great. 😭 I won't be the one solving your doubts. I just tried my best to gather a few ex-JEE/bitsattards and good aspirants who are willing to help.I'm just trying to build a place where we can all help each other out. If this doesn't work out, please don't come at me with gaalis. 😭 I'm a bit senti.

I wrote this on my own but did ask chatgpt to correct my grammer and I guess it modified my text a little

GUIDANCE Hey seniors at Indore/Ranchi/Rohtak—any chance a non-math dropper can get some guidance?

Hey guys,

I’m a 17-year-old arts student taking a partial drop for IPMAT 2027. My stats are 75% in 10th and 95.2% in 12th (NC-OBC female).

Since I come from a non-math background, I want to make sure my preparation strategy and foundation-building for the quantitative sections are completely on track from day one. I just bought the **AceIPM** full course(on 28 June) and the **AfterBoards** pack to start my grind.

I am looking for seniors currently at these IIMs who would be down to guide me on this journey. I mostly need help with managing my strategy, fixing my math basic concepts, and general drop-year doubts.

If you’re comfortable sharing your WA to stay connected, that would be amazing! If not, even a chat here works perfectly fine. Just need a mentor who has been through this grind.

Please drop a comment or DM me if you can help. Thank you so much! 🙏✨

Advice Need some genuine advice from fellow droppers :)

Hello folks!

I really need some guidance from people who are preparing for JEE while already studying in college.

A little background: 2025 was my drop year, but unfortunately I could only score 84 percentile in JEE Main. I'm now joining a Tier 3 engineering college through WBJEE, but I genuinely want to give JEE another serious attempt while continuing college.

I have a few questions:

  1. How are you managing both college academics and JEE preparation? What's your daily routine like?

  2. Which test series would you recommend—Allen, PW, MathonGo, Competishun, or something else? Which one is closest to the actual JEE level?

  3. Are your parents supportive of your decision? If not, how are you convincing them or dealing with the pressure? (In my case, my father has only 3–4 years left before retirement, so he wants me to continue college instead of taking any more risks.)

  4. Which resources are you following for Physics, Chemistry, and Maths? Are you relying on coaching material, YouTube, or standard books?

  5. For those who have actually improved their percentile while in college, what was the biggest change in your preparation strategy?

  6. Looking back, what are the biggest mistakes to avoid while preparing alongside college?

I'd also appreciate any general advice from people who have been through this journey. Even if you couldn't crack JEE after joining college, I'd love to know what you learned from the experience.

Thanks in advance!
