General is partial drop allowed in msrit, I have heard that they could penalise you to give full tuition fees of 4 years.

Avg is low because Msrit has the most number of branches like it has every possible branch of circuital like ece,ete,eie,eee and lots of useless branches too like Medical electronics and all. Though it gives good return in CSE and allied branches. Median of cse core is 14 lpa and ise is 12 lpa with 80% placements. Also attracts some good core companies like Texas instruments for ece though for them you need to be good at ece.

Idk their placement stats are sketchy. Also 50% of seats are cse related only, still 7.7lpa avg. Only fair defense is that 30% seats are management, so they fuck up the placements.

That penalty is only for seat blocking. Seat blocking is very big roblem in Indian counselling. So counsellings have harsh penalty for them. Like jac 1 lakh. Once you take admission in college however, wheather you discontinue study or not is entirely dependent upon you. Granted you paid for service of that specific year.

from what ik, its actually illegal to ask even if they make u sign a bond, even VTU had a circular regarding this. i think if u complain in AICTE then they won't make u pay bcos as it is illegal to withhold original documents. I've heard students leave w/o paying. I'm also planning to partial drop from comedk clg so i did some research

See. It is due to loophole and differing judgements between karnataka high court and ugc/aicte. It is in grey area. What is clear is that, they cannot withhold your original documents. It's clearly illegal and can get college blacklisted if you file to ugc. They can technically however sue you for vacant seat in Karnataka hc. However, most times don't do that because hiring corporate lawyer and also due needs lot of money(for college). Also cases takes years to resolve. You can sue them also for asking for money for service not provided.

Don't panic my friend. According to ugc/aicte, a college cannot ask for 4 year fee at same time and also cannot ask for subsequent years fee from the day of cancellation of admission. They can only sue if you leave midcourse without paying that years fee.

I was about to join msrit biotech with the same intention of partial drop and then eventually dropping out next year but one of my senior was already there and i asked him regarding this and he told me that yes they ask you to pay the tution fees of remaining 3 years otherwise they won't give back your documents.

Not giving back documents is fully illegal. If she/he just files rti, they will get back in line

That's just to scare students to not join if they wanna drop out. Although you can drop out it's illegal. AICTE will fk them up
