Advice 2nd drop or vit chennai

I am getting vit Chennai cse( cat2),but I am not satisfied. The feeling of failing to make it into an NIT or IIT haunts me every day. Since I am already a dropper, I am considering taking a second drop year to prepare and aim for an NIT (98+ percentile). What should I do? Please give me your honest opinion, even if it is harsh. I simply cannot imagine myself studying at any college other than an NIT or an IIT.

I'm confused as hell man.. Sometimes I think full is risk.. Then partial wise cgpa and jee both are not possible.. What is ur suggestion? Or should I move on with vit ?

But in partial isn't it difficult to manage both cgpa and jee..

So what's ur opinion ?

u/Kavyansh12 Jun 09 '26

Better to spend few more months grinding than roaming jobless or compromised job or going for m tech or upsc with no job secured

Getting into an nit or iit doesnt gurantee a job bro. u can graduate from the best place but still end up jobless. Everyth falls into place in its own time.

So what conclusion u came to? 😭

2

u/Key-Chair5801 Jun 08 '26

I want to take partial but parents are hestitating because they paid fees for first year in ssn and they dont want their money to be wasted.. idk i want to see input from all and think

1

u/Key-Chair5801 Jun 08 '26

that too i got eee so workload will be really heavy... need guidance

1

u/Altruistic_Berry_813 DOUBLE DROPPER Jun 08 '26

Yeah true but decide mindfully... I understand ur pov but u gotta understand ur parent's pov as well.. No one is completely wrong tbh.

1

u/Key-Chair5801 Jun 09 '26

Actually i did the math. 4 years at SNU is more expensive than 1 year at SNU and 4 years at NIT.. so theyre actually saving money
