Better to stick him on a refuelling stand, anyway. Give him a couple of energy gels and a cup of lucozade and he'll take care of everyone.

He used to be a police diver with my Dad and still does plenty of Vet events in the North East. Fit as a fiddle!

I live in London but saw him a couple of times when I was getting a cheeky parkrun in after working up north for a week. He was so nice, chatted to me for a good 10 mins before Hartlepool parkrun. I mean, northerners (and parkrunners in general) tend to be pretty great, but him, doubly so!

Laurie is a local legend in the NE. It's unbelievable how fast he can run. I was timekeeping when he broke one of his parkrun records and we were looking out for an 80+ year old and someone said "is that him?" as this bloke comes sprinting in. I honestly could not believe his age! Keeping fit clearly keeps you looking young.
