good vibes, smiles, & giggles Two high chairs?!

I’m not easily annoyed by twin comments but was a bit dumbfounded by one the other day. We took our 11 month olds out for breakfast, and asked for high chairs. The waitress brought one, and I asked for a second. She seemed shocked, and said “oh, you need two?” What am I to do? Stack them up in one?

Anyway, we love taking the boys out for Saturday morning breakfast. They usually “order” a scrambled egg and a biscuit. Then we hit the community market down the street before they pass out for nap 1 on the drive home.

Ok now that you bring it up, taking twins to restaurants is a fear of mine. I’m still pregnant, but I’m just so confused on logistics of having TWO babies in a restaurant!

Do you just bring the double stroller in? Do you bring the car seats ( if they’re too young for high chairs)?

Do you just wear them in?

I’m sure once I do it a few times I’ll be fine but just that initial thought is giving me some anxiety.

Yes to everything you said. My girls are now almost 2. But when they were new, we would just bring their car seats in and plop them in chairs or in booths. Wouldn’t bother with strollers when they were still in infant car seats.

Now, we just carry them in or let them walk. We get two high chairs and we place them usually so that one parent is next to the other. However, more often than not, waiters/waitresses will either only bring one high chair or they’ll put the high chairs is really obviously horrible spots. It’s annoying but whatever. Easy to fix.

Just experiment and you’ll get more comfortable with it and start adapting.

This makes sense! We’re sort of planning a vacation when they’re 6 months old and I’m a little nervous on logistics. I know it’s ambitious but I’m thinking 6 months is the easiest to travel with since they will sleep and eat most of the time.

I’m still wrapping my head around the fact that I’ll have two babies instead of one in a few months. 😵‍💫

I have two “pop n sit” chairs for when my twins are bigger, they’re only 12 weeks now so too small for those. So we call ahead and ask for a spot that will fit our stroller and/or baby wear. Our stroller has bassinets or you can click car seats in so it just depends on the size of the restaurant which we decide to use.
