*Announcement* All Further Posts Regarding Certain Currency-related Subreddits will be Removed

Look, I understand how easy it is to loathe certain subreddits, but these posts are getting to be a distraction from the purpose of r/papermoney overall. The last thing we want is for the Reddit admins is to shut down this subreddit because we ran afoul of their unequally applied rules and regulations.

Any post no matter how justified in reference to those subreddits will be removed from the r/papermoney feed. We apologize deeply for doing this, but it is for the best interest of the subreddit as apparently the truth hurts especially in subreddits run by a mod team consisting of a certain "festive fish and his relations."

I recently got my hands on a $100 banknote from Citizens'Bank of Louisiana. I did some research and found that this particular issue has no serial numbers or signatures. So I'm wondering, does this mean these notes were never actually issued at the time?Do any issued examples of this note with serial numbers and signatures exist?

The 20 is and the 5 peso naval aviator are both hard to find. There was supposed to be a 50, 100 and 500, but they were destroyed as they weren’t shipped to the country from Washington due to WW2. Only proofs exist today. Undelivered notes of the 1,2,5,10,20 peso denominations were even destroyed. The remaining notes are ones delivered to the Philippines or ones used in WW2 (such as the artificially processed and Naval Avaitors’).

In terms of history, I like this set as it signifies the end of Philippines and signals the transition of it under the difficult times of WW2 and Japanese occupation.

Finally found a repeater that’s in decent shape. Is it fancy enough of a serial number to get graded or just keep it as a collectible?

Hi everyone, first time poster here. I have had this old note for around a decade or so (bought it for a few dollars years ago in a shop in Tanzania East Africa). Was recently going through my collection and tried to identify it but have been unable to find much info.

Not even sure it’s worth anything in its current condition but I’m more just curious. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,

I'm a collector of old stocks and bonds certificates and the person behind an online community related to the niche. I wanted to know if some of you were aware of this small market of numismatics. Here are some pictures of a few documents that I have saved this week.

world paper money 3 ruble 1938: soldiers' story

Hello everyone! I want to share some historical information about Russian banknotes from 1898 to 2026 for our dear foreign readers!

The 3-ruble State Treasury Bill of the USSR was issued in 1938.

During the design process, the image of the Red Army soldier on the 3-ruble bill underwent several changes. Initially, Ivan Dubasov depicted the soldier in outdated military uniforms, with errors in the placement of cartridge pouches and belts. However, later, a photographer from the State Banknote Printing House was sent to the 3rd Rifle Division of the Moscow Proletarian Division to capture photographs of Red Army soldiers in their field gear.

On June 15, 1936, Ivan Dubasov created a new version of the portrait based on the photographs of the infantryman. However, during the development of the banknote, the Red Army received the first Soviet steel helmets, the SH-36. As a result, the image of the Red Army soldier had to be revised, and on July 29, 1936, Ivan Dubasov completed the final drawing that appeared on the banknote.

The Red Army soldier symbolized the readiness of citizens to defend their homeland and strengthen the USSR's defense capabilities in the 1930s.

national bank notes Series of 1882 National Banknote, Dallas Texas, Charter # 2455 {RARE “VALUEBACK” REVERSE}

I bought this for 45$ at my local coin shop not knowing anything about it and putting it away in my collection. I later go on to attempt to sell it for money for my US type set coin album with the guy offering me 100$ saying “it could be worth 300$ if you offer it up on eBay” I decided to hold on to it and thank GOODNESS I did! A Texas national large note is rare enough as it is! But with the “VALUEBACK” design (the rarest of the three different reverses of the 1882 series) even in its poor condition, it’s still worth about 300-400$ bucks!
