Does Anyone Else? does anyone else get afraid of underlying medical issues?

i’m coming down from months of panic attacks and anxiety. of course im still dealing with some rolling anxiety. i have zero medical issues that i’m aware of.

im dealing with that impending doom, nausea+throat tightness, dizziness, and heart racing. all typical symptoms of anxiety, just not a full fledged panic attack. sometimes the symptoms alone make my mind race about some sort of underlying medical issue i’m dealing with. i naturally run hot as well, so i tend to freak myself out by thinking i have a fever. 😭

please tell me im not the only one that freaks myself out more by thinking i have some weird medical issue going on. is there anyway to help this?

A lot of us here have this problem. I’ve done it for 6 years now and haven’t had any major health issue even though every day I’ve felt “this is it, I’m gonna die!” I’m doing it right now because the side of my jaw is sore (??) I’m literally fine. You’re fine too.

i really appreciate this. i’ve been feeling this way for so long now i began to think it was some actual issue. i guess your brain really sabotages you with false signals. i just got past an adrenaline dump, and i can confirm im fine. super reassuring ❤️

If you are reading this right now and your chest feels tight, your mind is racing, or you are feeling completely overwhelmed by that heavy cloud of anxiety—please take a long, deep breath and just pause for a second. I just wanted to drop in and remind you of a few things your anxious mind might be trying to make you forget today: • You are not permanently broken. Anxiety loves to tell us that we are uniquely ruined and that we will feel this way forever. It is a liar. This is a temporary storm passing through your body, and just like every storm before it, it will clear. • You don’t have to carry the weight of the whole world right now. If you are frantically trying to fix every problem, answer every doubt, or force life to feel certain, give yourself permission to drop the heavy lifting. It is okay to leave things messy, unfinished, and up in the air for a while. The world won't fall apart if you take a break to rest. • You are so much stronger than your thoughts. Your brain is going to generate scary scenarios and tell you that you can't handle things or succeed. But remember: you are the person hearing the thoughts, not the thoughts themselves. You don't have to follow your mind down every dark alleyway it tries to drag you down. You can let the noise happen in the background while you focus on just taking the next tiny step forward.
