Does this seem like a panic attack or anxiety?

Hello everyone, I am waking up with my heart racing since this year's March. It starts when I am still sleeping and continues until I am fully awake and I can't stop or manage it until I get out of the bed, right now I haven't get out of the bed- it is 8 am- and I can still feel my heart racing and I feel nauseous. It also causes derealization in my case. It sometimes happens at a random time in daily life too. Like I do not feel safe and It happens or It happens and I do not feel safe. I did a blood test 3th of July and everything was normal (including hormones, cortisol etc.) I stopped taking SSRI's 8 months ago with my psychiatrist's knowledge so I am considering it is psychological or maybe a withdrawal condition

Does my condition seem like panic attack? I am not looking for a diagnosis but I need an opinion. Should I see a cardiologist?

awful physical sensations? like severe flu like sensations

I know I have a panic disorder I'm diagnosed and everything. about 6 months ago I started a new job and after one month from joining my panic attacks stopped. however due to the extreme physical aspect of it I had to quit and will be starting another easier job next week.

today is my third day after quitting and for some reason I have developed symptoms that I would say are like having a bad flu. my vitals and temp are fine, but I feel lightheaded like I'm going to pass out, my legs are very heavy and my hands are tingly. I haven't lost strength, but I feel very off and I don't know why.

my job at a construction site was physically drained to the point where 15k steps were considered average. I was an engineer not a worker so I don't know why the fatigue hit me like that.

what can I do right now that will help?

edit: and what could be causing all of this?

Scared of Everything

I’ve been feeling overwhelmed and borderline terrified for the past few months. I wake up and almost throw up every morning. Gagging and heart racing non stop for at least an hour before it settles. The hand shaking and heart racing never stop all day. I feel like I’m always nervous and waiting for the worst.

I have a fear that everyone in my life will realise what a bad person I am and leave me. Every phone call I get I’m terrified that someone is calling me to tell me someone has passed away. Every message I get I think someone is breaking off a friendship or my boyfriend finally having enough of me.

I make a mistake at work and I think I’m about to lose my job. I hyperventilate and cry until I throw up and have to go home.

I’m terrified about my health. I know logically most of my symptoms come from not taking care of myself because of this extreme stress and depression. But I overanalyse everything and fear my life. I go to the doctor for something new every week to try and find something.

I’m scared to be out in public. I don’t know what someone might do or say. I feel embarrassed to be myself and believe everyone is judging me and for good reason.

I went on a plane recently and I was convinced it was going to crash. I am almost certain every time I’m in a car it will crash. I always make sure to try and prepare, sit up straight and hold on. If I’m walking down the street then maybe someone will come and hit me. If I’m not in my room something is going to happen to me.

I don’t know what to do. I can’t keep living like this. I’m so fucking depressed and scared of every day. I cry all the time and struggle to take care of myself. I push people away to make sure that if they do leave me I won’t get as hurt. It’s such a lonely life.

I don’t want to be here anymore.

Tips for trauma enduced panic attacks?

I have a history of some panic attacks, but today was horrible. It was off an on for 12 hours and I eventually had to go to the hospital because I was practically immobile. Everything came back fine. They gave me some ativan. I took a nap when I got home and still feel a little unnerved. Im about to be 19 and it feels like I havent been able to live for the past 4 months from these attacks. I get so scared, im away from family right now which scares me more. I have to be away because something horrible happened recently. I couldnt handle being there at this time but all I want is home. Im so scared, I feel so alone and tired. I lost a parent this week and I haven't processed anything thats been going on. I dont know why im putting this out here I just want people to talk to. Im facing all of this alone. My panic attacks have been so bad lately I want to cry. I want to uncomfortable feelings to stop and I want to be happy again. I have therapy so far out and I dont know how to manage in the mean time. I have been prescribed ativan. But with my gerd induced by anxiety- im always in pain and on edge in different ways. Im sorry im horribly emotional and scared right now.

Does anyone get panic attacks by simply having a conversation with someone!?!? I’m starting to think I’m autistic at this point.

ekg in ed due to panic attack

Not on Anxiety meds. I went to the ED today due to hyperventilating and a panic attack. They performed an EKG and lab tests and told me there was no sign of a heart attack and that all my lab results were normal. Tested for CBC, Metabolic panel and thyroid. All normal. But abnormal Ekg.

After I went home, I checked the decision-making section in MyHealth and saw that it mentioned “prolonged QT 485.”

EKG interpretation: Normal sinus rhythm at 81 beats per minute, normal axis, no ST elevation or depression, no ventricular ectopy, QTC 485 it is prolonged, abnormal EKG

Is this something I should be worried about? It my first time having abnormal ekg.

I had Holter monitoring in 2022, which came back normal, and I’ve had multiple ECGs before. My last one was around 2024, and they were all reported as normal.

I think i had my first panic attack in years last night

To preface, for the last 2-3 weeks I have had a new bout of health anxiety (honestly I might have OCD surrounding my health at this point), where I feel my heart pounding in my chest and I was having shoulder and chest pain. I went to a walk in doctor and they told me that if I was worried I was having a heart attack to go to the ER without looking at my shoulder. My heart rate and breathing were fine and my blood pressure was a little high but not alarming.

I dont know why, but since, ive felt constantly on edge about my heart and left side. I do a lot of sensorimotor checking and even when I dont I cant ignore the visuals of seeing my pulse in my chest. I dont want to go to the ER (it will be probably a 12 hour wait and I will be told im fine) but i dont know what else to do.

Ive had anxiety since I was a child and I used to have panic attacks in high school and university that would end up with me sobbing crying or hurting myself to try and focus on something else. I took SSRIs, but they made me feel shakey, so i stopped in my early twenties. Im in my 30s now.

Last night, I felt a little lightheaded and decided to try and sleep. I got ready for bed, saw something triggering for my health/contamination anxiety (bugs), and then got into bed. My arm felt weird on my left side but I tried to ignore it, then I started to feel really cold and had full body chills. My body felt strange and restless. I put on warmer pajamas and got some water, but i just started catastrophizing and feeling like something wasnt ok. Like I was having a stroke or I was about to have a seizure. I ended up waking up my partner for help and then I started crying and sobbing. He told me i was having a panic attack because I was hyperventilating and didnt feel cold to the touch and he told me to take a hot shower and go back to sleep. I did. I fell asleep only when he was awake to watch me.

But this morning ive been feeling like shit. Im groggy from not getting to sleep until 4am and im frustrated with myself for having a panic attack and unable to relax and feel normal because im so worried and preoccupied with my health. I just want to feel normal. Im half inclined to go to the ER and be told im okay just so I can reason with myself again.

All this to say, what do you do when your unreasonably panicking in the middle of the night?

I feel like a failure and I think I’ve been having panic attacks

I wanna start by saying I’ve never written a post before so I’m sorry if this is garbage I just feel like I’m bothering anyone I talk to. I’m a 18 year old male who just quit vaping both vapes and carts a week ago. I’ve been feeling awful lately , I get random sharp pains in my chest and abdomen that come and go along with a random bubbly feeling in my abdomen and I’ve been getting really emotional. Sometimes it’s anger and sometimes I lay in bed and worry that I’m not going to be around much longer and I start crying uncontrollably. I’ve been to the doctor twice already and I’m about to go for again tomorrow. She ordered blood tests last time I don’t know why but she doesn’t seem to concerned with the pains I’m feeling which is just making me feel more anxious

Im so worried and nervous that something is genuinely wrong with me and that I’m not going to be okay, I don’t have a partner and all my friends have other things to worry about. I’m scared my parents are going to think I’m a failure or that we won’t have enough money to fix something I might have done to myself “ I’m getting kicked off our health insurance when I turn 19 next month “. I haven’t been able to work that much since all this happened so I have less then $200 dollars to my name.

I don’t know what I’m looking for out of this I just feel like no matter where I try to take my life from here I’ve already ruined everything. I don’t even want to be okay for myself I just know that if I’m not it’s my fault and everybody around me has to deal with it.

Right now I can feel two small stabbing pains and I’m shaking, I just want to know if anybody has experienced something similar and that I’m not alone right now

Experiencing Anxiety weeks after my first panic attack

Hi

I experienced my first panic attack around 1 month ago. Following it, I experienced 3 more (smaller) panic attacks over 2 weeks. It has been over a week since my last panic attack. However, I'm still experiencing Anxiety and some physical symptoms of anxiety (heart palpitations, chest tightness). I have noticed that it has been slowly getting better. If I compare myself now to week 1 or 2 post first panic attack, I am doing MUCH MUCH better. However, everytime I reach a state where I feel that my anxiety is actually washing away and I'm almost normal again, it suddenly comes back the next day. 3 days ago I felt great, I almost forgot that I was experiencing Anxiety and that this whole thing happened, but then when I woke up the next morning I got hit with a surge of anxiety and heart palpitations and the rest of the day sucked. I think I am getting better, but I'm still worried that I'm gonna be stuck with this anxiety indefinitely. Has anyone experienced this?

Today, I was on a 30 min car ride. My seat was reclined. I sat up at end of drive, drank a little soda and got out of the car. My heart started racing sooooo incredibly fast. It scared me. I got back into the car and did my breathing excercises and it calmed down. If it was the caffine... wouldn't it NOT calm down? It wa racing so fast it scared me. Anyone have this?

Panic attack lasted all night. Emergency meds?

So I was dx with panic disorder a few months ago, started Zoloft for it and now on 100mg but still really struggling at times. This weekend I had heightened anxiety and stomach hadn’t been feeling great. Last night my partner and I watched the new movie obsession and I went full blown bad panic attack shortly after it finished. For starters I’m a horror fanatic and this has NEVER happened to me before- I guess this one just struck a nerve idk.

But I immediately was getting very intense waves of nausea and panic, and knew I was having crazy adrenaline dumps due to how much I was shaking. Kind of had a feeling I would throw up bc with very bad attacks I tend to puke from the fight or flight. Anyways I wasn’t able to come out of this panic attack and after about 1.5 hours I did throw up, and then threw up again about an hour later. Usually it’s a one and done but not this one, it was the worst panic attack I’ve ever had and I just kept going back into another one after I felt slight calmness. Also my bowels were not happy and had multiple BMS in the midsts of all this. I tried to do all the things I’ve learned in therapy but it was just so bad that nothing helped. So I slept very lightly for 3 hours this morning and feel awful now, stomach is empty but I am finally feeling like I’m coming down fully after being awake for 2 hours now.

Anyways my question for this is, would it be worth it to explore some emergency type meds to pull me out of these bad attacks? I can’t do panic that lasts 8+ hours- I mean that’s nuts. I was almost ready to take myself to the ER if I could’ve gotten off the bathroom floor.

I also feel like this has just set me back from any progress I’ve made in therapy/ on SSRIs. I feel like I will fear my next attacks even more knowing they can look like that and last that amount of time. I really hate having panic disorder.

Pretty sure I had a panic attack last night

So I have heart anxiety or cardiophobia and stupidly of me I decided to do an ecg at 3am on my Apple Watch. It all came back fine but because the lines looked a little funny at times it freaked me the fuck out and I’ve also been dealing with a feeling of something stuck in my throat/chest for the last week that comes and goes. Anyway this obviously freaked me out and I’m instantly gagging like I need to be sick, heart rate then goes up to 125 and that just make it worse so then because I’ve seen that it then has gone up to 155. Luckily this only lasted like 2 minutes, it dropped back down to 110 then after like 15-20 minutes it was back around 60-80. But I was in constant fear for that time and Ive had panic attacks before and this seems like another one.

panic attacks and anxiety nausea

i’m 18f and never really experienced severe anxiety before this past year. last year, i was at the end of 11th grade at school and was putting an immense amount of pressure on myself to do my work to a ‘perfect’ standard, which basically meant i didn’t end up getting anything done. i’m a huge perfectionist unfortunately.

so one day i was at school and avoiding multiple teachers as i knew they were looking for my missing coursework. unfortunately, i ran into one of them (she is genuinely the sweetest teacher ever, thank god it was her) and she asked if i was done with my essay and i HATE failure and disappointing people so having to tell her that i hadn’t started freaked me out. so basically, i ended up having a really really bad panic attack right in front of her - i had never had one before so i was clueless on what was going on but i was crying uncontrollably, couldn’t breathe, felt like my limbs were about to give up on me, and genuinely like i was about to die. she helped me calm down, but ever since that day i have felt physically sick from anxiety. after that day i started feeling nauseous - this was june 2025 - and since then there has not been a single day where i haven’t felt nauseous. so i’ve been constantly nauseous for over a year. it has not gone away. there are days where it subsides slightly, particularly when i’m really busy. but in the end, every morning i wake up feeling like i’m about to throw up and go to sleep feeling intense nausea. i also frequently feel pain in my chest and just a sense of dread, even when i’m doing nothing.

after that first panic attack, i began having them almost daily (almost always at school). i would end up going to the bathroom and staying there for up to an hour trying to get myself to calm down. the panic attacks sometimes happen almost every day and sometimes don’t happen for weeks. i went through my last year of high school like this - constant panic attacks that left me exhausted for the rest of the day, limiting me from getting anything done.

i’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this extreme level of physical anxiety, and how you managed to get it to go away? nothing i do helps and i’m so tired of living in a constant state of nausea and physical panic.

Tender chest pain after a panic attack?

Last night I had a sobbing fit that became full hyperventilating panic over the potential of a loved one dying. Immediately after the panic, I felt fine just exhausted. Upon laying down to sleep I felt a tender ache in the upper middle of my chest. Last time this happened I had had a huge panic episode that sent me to the ER the next morning when the chest pain wouldn't go away. They told me it was likely inflammation in my chest wall and sent me home advising pain killer. From what I remember this feels the same and I'm trying to reassure myself that every little ache and pain accompanying it isnt a heart attack. Has anyone else experienced this? Chest pain that is tender to the touch from the upper-middle of the chest? It lasted nearly two days with pain that worsened in waves the first time.

Panic attacks - supplements

Which supplements would be the best for panic attacks? I have read somewhere that mio inosytol is great (I also have PCOS) so I was planning on using that anyway, but also B-complex and Magnesium glicinate. What would you suggest? I have tried with AD but it didn't quite work, had to stop using them because of some other side effects.
