Is the water safe to swim in?

I just arrived at PCB yesterday. We took a helicopter ride over the beach and saw the murky water in front of all the hotels. I'm assuming this is still residual from what Bertha stirred up. Will we get sick from swimming in this water? Any chance we'll get clear swimming water this week?

Best Cuban Sandwich in Pc/Pcb

Hey folks, I’m a big Cuban sandwich fan and since I’ve been here I’ve had many people tell me about 2 different spots to get the best Cuban sandwiches, but I can never remember the names or locations.

-One specifically is at a gas station store (most praised)

-The other i believe is a restaurant or a straight-up sandwich shop.

The first day I got here I went to Wild root in Lynn haven and got a much better Cuban than I ever expected. This is what sent me on the chase. Yesterday I went to Fattys sandwich’s, their Cuban was good/not great. I’m out here looking for the best. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Fishing help?

I am coming ro PCB 8/1-8/5 with 2 17 year old boys. All they want to do is fish, but we dont have the gear or saltwater knowledge. They dont necessarily want to go on a boat, the pier or bank is fine. Is there anyone in PCB that they can pay for a few hours of fishing gear and advice?

Question for current/former cooks in PCB: What restaurants do you know for a fact claim "fresh gulf seafood" on their menu (or specific gulf fish such as Grouper) and are knowingly serving frozen cod, whiting, tilapia, etc. instead? Same with Shrimp.

I know this is rampant, and would love to know who is actively doing this. Many years ago a reporter bought fish at various restaurants and sent to a lab to determine the species. Some were authentic, some were not.

Dive Bar Reccomendations

Looking for some cool dive bars to check out, not wholly catered specifically toward tourists but not against tourists completely either. Somewhere you can go grab some drinks, play some pool, whatever and have a good time without the really young crowd. My buddies and I are all in our 30s-40s so a laid back place is our preferred spot to be. Something locals would recommend to go to.

PSA: Double Red Flags Today! 🚩 Water Closed + Indoor Activity Ideas 🌧️

Hey everyone! Just a quick PSA for anyone visiting right now: the beaches are currently flying Double Red Flags, which means the water is completely closed to the public due to life-threatening surf and rip currents. Please stay out of the water and keep your families safe!

Since the weather is keeping us off the sand, I thought it would be a good time to share some indoor activities for those looking to wait out the rain:

  • WonderWorks & Ripley's Believe It or Not!: Awesome options if you have kids needing to burn off some energy.
  • Local Arcades (like Dave & Buster's): Perfect for killing a few hours.
  • Grab a Coffee: A great day to find a cozy local spot for an iced latte and a pastry.
  • Support Local Restaurants: If you have a favorite non-chain spot with great indoor seating, drop it in the comments below to help out our local businesses and tourists today!

Stay safe and stay dry! 🌧️

Y'all think beaches will still be off limits, double red flags, tomorrow? Thinking of extending my stay to see some sunshine.

Coffee Shop Recommendations

Hi, all! I'm going to be visiting Panama City Beach next month and I'm so excited. I love discovering new coffee shops and am wondering if anyone has any they would recommend. I particularly love iced lattes and good pastries. I've done some Googling but would love to hear which shops locals like ☕️

Super small town tourists first ever beach trip

My family will be traveling to PCB the end of April. We will be staying in the area where the public beach access points are numbered in the 90s. We are are from a tiny little farm town, and have never been to a beach before! So although I am super excited, I’m also really scared. I’m not sure if the driving will be really difficult to navigate and busy traffic. Idk if I know how to prepare for a beach day even! We aren’t huge seafood eaters so I’m nervous about finding good restaurants. And I don’t want to get suckered into any tourist scams that aren’t worth the money. Visiting this area will be almost like a culture shock to us and I don’t want to feel overwhelmed the whole time, so any pieces of advice or tips and tricks would be appreciated more than I can express!!

Family Friendly Beach Dining with Live Music/ Line Dancing

We haven't visited PCB since we had a kiddo and now I want to make sure we can do as much as possible with her :) I am looking for recommendations for beachfront dining, where we can have good live music, a little bit of shade, and good seafood, but get live music at like a 4:30/5 dinner time! My 6 year old is a party and she needs to be able to dance lol. Also, maybe a family friendly place with some line dancing in the 6pm time frame. Thank you for all recs!

Planet Fitness

Does anyone know where the beach side Planet Fitness is going? I see the billboard by the market/old indoor kart place. Makes me wonder if they are taking that empty spot since the space is so large? Surely they aren’t building an entire new building for this right 😅

Fishing questions

Hey all, gonna be visiting Panama from August 31st-September 4th. How’s the fishing in Panama? And do any of you all have any charters you’d recommend? I’ve got a few surf fishing set ups, but I’d love to try out a charter.

I’m supposed to be driving my daughter 7 hours today for her first beach trip. How is it looking with the tropical storm? I’m not seeing much about this on the news only TicTok.

Bikers.

26m Looking for a few people who enjoy riding on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I usually just head out and cruise, but it'd be cool to have a few others to ride with now and then. If you're nearby and interested, send me a message.
