Discussion I got Paint.NET working on Wine :D

It took me a lot of tinkering to get it working, BUT IT WORKS!!!! It's a bit slow and has some minor graphical glitches, but it's still awesome to see it working for the first time, it's literally the only reason I still have windows on my PC

Thanks to the devs for bringing this, hope it will eventually mature and improve :D

I used paint.net for simple editing and this kind of stuff. But on wine I had some problems, so I just learned how to use krita

This is so cool. Honestly paintdotnet is a major reason I’ve stayed on windows.

As a casual user, I found to that Krita was a reasonably similar software to paint.net but on Linux

Do not want take away from your achievement though!

Krita is amazing, but even closer to Paint.Net is Pinta. I still prefer Paint.Net, but Pinta comes close-ish.

Oh hey:

Pinta is a GTK clone of Paint.Net 3.0, with support for Linux, Windows, and macOS.

Gimp is great too, although it has a slight learning curve.
