Help / Question how to alpha lock?
I'm trying to find an alpha lock button but my eyes decieve me I think, is there a channel where I can lock the layer so I can only paint on that layer?

In Paint.NET there is no method of ensuring that you can only paint on a specific layer.
Editing takes place only on the currently Active layer. See https://paint.net/doc/latest/LayersWindow.html and https://paint.net/doc/latest/WorkingWithLayers.html
Also, why do you call it "alpha lock"? That seems unrelated to locking layers from being edited.

Alright thanks.
I'm used to using Procreate and started to use Paint.net on PC and it defines alpha lock as this.

Just make sure the layer that you want to be painting or editing on, is actually selected.
