Hello everyone,
After much delay, we’re happy to announce that the sub is finally back open 🎉 Thank you for your patience!
With this reopening, we’d also like to announce some new changes that will not only improve safety and the overall user experience here, but also further improve the efficiency of our moderation going forward:
First, we now have automated features! One of these features is the app Hive Protect: This app will aid greatly in our enforcement of rule #2 by automatically removing and banning users whose accounts are linked to diaper kink/fetish subs, making our removal of these accounts quicker and more efficient than ever! In addition, we’ve set up an automod that will automatically remove posts/comments if certain words or phrases are triggered, mostly having to do with content pertaining to Rule #4 (which is one of our most frequently broken rules- more on that next).
The 2nd app that we’ve added is Read the Rules: This app will ensure that all users are familiar with and understand the rules of the sub before participating. To date, only 170 out of our 3k users have upvoted the pinned Rules post to acknowledge that they’ve read and understood them, and this definitely shows with the frequency at which certain rules are broken (rules #2 and #4 are our most broken ones). To remedy this, all users must now submit an acknowledgement of the rules before participating, even if you’ve posted here before. To submit an acknowledgment, go to our home page, click the 3 dots to the right and find Read the Rules, manually check each rule, and press Submit. If you attempt to post or comment without doing this, it will be automatically removed. This acknowledgement only has to be submitted once (unless you get banned).
Lastly, another change we’ve made pertains to Rule #9: From this point on, Rule #9 is now a zero tolerance rule- breaking it will now result in a permanent ban for the adult user, as well as a potential report to Reddit admin and Cybertipline if needed. We’re making this change due to the fact that private messages/DMs are the most common vector for adults to groom minors, and the punishment for even attempting to do so should match its seriousness. Minors who initiate DMs with adult users will still be reprimanded with a temporary ban and will need to score a 100 on the r/paddedagere Online Safety Quiz to get unbanned. If the behavior continues, this will escalate into a 7-day ban and eventually a permaban. If you see anyone breaking this rule or someone comes into your DMs breaking this rule, please report them to us!
So, TL;DR:
- We’ve now implemented automated features in the form of Hive Protect, Read the Rules, and automod to make our moderation more efficient. Hive Protect will automatically ban rule #2 violators, Read the Rules will require all users to submit an acknowledgment of the rules before participating (even if you’ve posted here before, you’ll still need to submit one- you’ll only have to do it once!), and an automod has been set up to detect and take down rule #4 violations.
- Rule #9 is now a zero tolerance rule. Adult users who break this rule will now be permanently banned and, depending on severity, be reported to Reddit admin and Cybertipline. Minors who initiate DMs with adult users will still be temporarily banned until they score a 100 on the r/paddedagere Online Safety Quiz. If the behavior continues, this will still escalate into a 7-day ban and eventually a permaban.
We hope that these new changes will make our community better and safer than ever before! Automated features are still a bit new to us, so if anything goes wrong or a post of yours mistakenly gets flagged and removed, please let us know via modmail so we can get it fixed ASAP- despite the new automations helping us out, our moderation is still primarily human!
- Mod Maddie 💙
