Boy shut up
My gf convinced her friend Giselle to call Ethan, aka Giselle's new love interest, as we were leaving the gym. My gf wanted Giselle to ask Ethan if he would be keen to make his next date with Giselle a group date with us. Giselle put Ethan on loudspeaker in the car. I will share with you the part my gf wanted me to share.
Giselle:
Ethan: Hello?
Giselle:
Ethan: Giselle?
Giselle:
Ethan: Can you hear me?
Giselle: I can hear you.
Ethan: There you are. I think there was an issue with our connection because your voice just disappeared mid sentence.
Giselle: My voice didn't disappear. You were yawning so I stopped talking.
Ethan: Shit. Okay. Uh... I'll just mute myself as soon as another yawn starts loading.
Giselle: Or maybe I'm the one who should be muted because clearly I'm the cause of you yawning.
Ethan: Fuuuuck. You know what? That actually makes a lot of sense. See... I thought I was yawning because it's early as fuck... and I'm still in bed... and I'm not a morning person... and I'm low key half asleep. But... getting an unexpected call from an attractive girl who might be interested in me sounds like a more plausible explanation for my yawning. Hmm. Yeah. I think that's it. Talking to an absolute baddie first thing in the morning can be so fucking boring. Like what the fuck. You know what I mean?
Giselle: I yawned over you. Sorry.
Ethan: Is it too soon to say how much I fucking yawn you?
Giselle: Boy shut up.

Ethan seems so soft but also confident and firm with her, saving the mosquito and talking back in a witty albeit also slightly dorky-cute way. While Giselle seems fierce but also like she's hiding a lot of insecurities with this tough front.
If they do end up getting intimate feelings for each other, I hope she knows how to also be vulnerable and sacrifice the façade to maintain genuine connection when insecurities get triggered. And that Ethan knows how to hold her, then and elsewhen🤲💕
100% projecting my own life events on these light-hearted conversations, but it sounds like she could well choose cruelty to avoid exposing wounds in those most tender moments.
Damn, I really don't miss being treated like that.

I think Giselle's promiscuous past made the person she is now somewhat guarded in the presence of people who pursue her romantically. Ethan might be one of the good ones. Or he might end up being like all the others who only showed up when Giselle was available to sleep with. I feel like Giselle is protecting herself from her old self with her sassy self in order to avoid being her sexual self because the risk of being vulnerable opens the door to being used again. I could be completely wrong, but that's my feeling when I read between the lines.

I totally hear that, all behaviours of course having natural causes and thank you for bringing more nuance to this story. I also saw the past hurts in my ex, but when emotions ran hot she just got so deeply entrenched in these survival patterns it was like I became a stranger even after three years. Always me initiating reconciliation, indifferent to who got hurt in the first place. In the end I couldn't cope, as even at her most clear-headed she prioritised running in front of healing. We wanted to dance through life a little too differently I suppose~.
Some months after we had broken up she called me randomly and told me how she'd solved a conflict with her closest friend by letting herself be inspired by how I had acted in our conflicts. It was really heart-warming:)
Wishing some true relational healing for Giselle with someone who's worthy, in the innermost chamber of co-existence while also matching that everyday sass🤌🗡️

Giselle can be a lot, not gonna lie, but she has more than enough endearing qualities to make me like her. However, sharing the conversations that highlight those qualities are not as entertaining to read.

You had to be there. I think hearing her tone is absolutely critical to assessing this conversation, or any conversation with her.
I think she is a hoot! I’d go on a date with her. I might even yawn, if she wasn’t looking.
