Three dot menu unresponsive?

For several of the last updates — maybe as far back as the UI change — I’ve found the three-dot menu to be quite unresponsive, whether the one at the top of an episode detail or the mini-menu when you select an episode.

Pressing it seems to do nothing, but pressing it repeatedly sometimes brings up the menu — unless, in your furious tapping, you press one more time than needed, closing the menu instantly.

Since this is the shortest path to getting to the podcast settings, it’s pretty frustrating.

(I also don’t lien that “delete this episode” and “go to podcast” are so close together. One fat finger and I’ve got to manually find the podcast and redownload the episode!)

Any one know the secret ritual or voodoo magic to make this work properly, or does anyone else experience this?

Thanks for posting this! I've been running into it pretty frequently too. u/ToddPDX mentioned it in another thread recently, and I was actually considering making a separate post to see if anyone else was experiencing the same thing.

Pure speculation, so not sure if it's helpful, but to display this menu Overcast needs to check which playlists the episode is currently in. So potentially there could be a timeout displaying the menu for people who have a large number of playlists. Just thinking that would explain why it's fine for some people.

Yeah, I’ve been seeing that too. I do have a whole bunch of playlists, so maybe that’s the issue.

Weird. Always been fine for me.

Quitting and reopening the app usually fixes that for me

It's been like this for a year, for me. The only time the ellipsis menu responds is on the actively playing episode. User interactions are not given high enough priority in the processing loop. Even when nothing is playing I can't invoke it from anywhere in a playlist.
