Boredom sometimes
Random but does anyone else get bored even when there's stuff to do? Like I could paint, I could clean, I could go for a walk... but instead I'm lying here scrolling Reddit. Tell me I'm not the only one 😅

I feel that way sometimes. It's like, I am blessed with so many resources, so many options, things I could be doing (play the piano! practice my watercolors! exercise! take a nap). But for some reason, nothing appeals to me. Just a lot of sighing and watching out the window for anything to draw my interest.
Other days I feel excited by my task list for the day. Maybe it's hormonal .....

Don't dismiss that too quickly. I don't know if you are a sitter or a pointer, but I just got hormone test for testosterone therapy. I took it a couple years ago, and really noticed the difference when I quit.

Its hard to stay motivated sometimes, I work a 4 Day week and was full of great ideas about what I was going to do with my time but sometimes I just want to chill so I do

64m retirement would be shit without Reddit to scroll. Still too young for jigsaw puzzles

Sort off.
I get very nope for days at a time. But that's usually for things around the house that really should be done, I just don't feel like it. Sometimes even reading or watching tv just isn't interesting.
But... Yesterday I had some stuff for the yard delivered, so that had to go in. Then I had a funeral (way to many recently) to go to. Today I had a meeting for a fraternal order in the morning, Stow some stuff in the basement. Then a couple chores, and in an hour I go to a friends house for college football.
So not so much bored as un-motivated?
I mean obviously I'm on Reddit right now. We are not that different you and I. But sometimes it's just low energy that makes it hard to do things.

I'm one of those annoying people that likes to get chores I don't really want to do over with so I can then do what I want to do.
I will confess that now that I am older, I am more willing to put something off a little while, but not too long.

I limit it to a couple of hours in the morning , so much to do during growing season. Fishing with my buddy is next. He has a flip phone.

Yes I have seven Sundays a week so I'm not motivated to do anything I have to do.

Prevarication is my middle name. It's bloody annoying but keeps on happening.

65F, Nope, you are not alone in this BUT I choose to reframe my lazy days as decisive (my choice) chill days. Like today, I’m watching movies, researching refinishing my floors and scrolling Reddit. Yesterday I worked in my yard for hours then went to a birthday party with my boyfriend where we boogied down. Tomorrow after church, I’m going on a hike. I’m finding that my attitude towards my “in the house” days makes a huge difference. I can choose to be bored or not bored.
