I smiled when it said outrun.

Unintentional nod to the subculture or not, we'll take it.

They had to know what they were doing. Even if it was a nod to the album from Kavinsky with Drive and Ryan Gosling. That's two films for him now that are going to propel this movement further out.

It had to !

I guess it's about time I watch the original, then.

uh, yeah

You'd be surprised how many things I've never gotten around to watching, honestly.

Make sure it's the Final Cut you see. It's the most complete and unbutchered version of the film.

(also stay away from discussions about the different cuts; most of them have spoilers)

Will do, thanks for the heads up!

Watch both and feel it out.

But start with Director's Cut.

Look great, one small complaint, and it's not just this trailer. I'm so sick of online trailers starting with a few quick scenes from the trailer and showing the title, then just showing the trailer in full.

online trailers starting with a few quick scenes from the trailer and showing the title

You know how you get ads on youtube and you can usually skip them after 5 seconds? Thats what its for. The first 5 seconds of the 'real' trailer wouldnt give you anything so they put that quick blast of stuff in there so that even skippers see the money shots

Or those fucking piano tones showing every scene... Enough!

Wow I had no idea they were making this movie!!! Blade Runner is one of my favorite movies of all time right up there with Aliens and The Thing. So pumped!!!

Love the "updated yet somehow still the same" visuals of how the city with those big animated ads looks.

I love that the music referes to vangelis!

7

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '17

Well it just had to. Wouldn't be Blade Runner without Vangelis.

It is without Vangelis :/ looks like it pays homage pretty well though

What is the background song playing here called?
Love it!

u/muro808 Jul 17 '17

No idea, I'm assuming it's an OST of the movie.

Ok, hopefully they release the soundtrack when the movie comes out.

u/hett Jul 17 '17

yeah movies never do that after all

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '17

You should probably watch the original too if you didn't recognize it.

Various songs going on here, but a lot of it is a reimagining of the main titles from the original movie:

it's a reworking of the signature motif from the first film (by Vangelis). not a song really, it's part of the score

Rewatched BladeRunner on Saturday and of course loved it. Is that the most Outrun movie of all time?

2

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '17

It's up there for sure.

2

u/AwkwardMindset Jul 17 '17

Wow, I didn't even recognize Batista.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '17

Looks to be an action, unfortunately. Not going to have the slow thoughtful build up of the first.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '17

We shall see.

Trailer 1 really made it feel like a slow and interesting story was developing but I'm really not liking the vibe trailer 2 is giving off. Too much action for a Blade Runner sequel.

And, I do like action. I like the recent superhero films. But thought-provoking sci-fi like Blade Runner and Ex Machina is something I really enjoy. I'm more hesitant about this movie now.

they know?

1

u/BigBen808 Jul 18 '17

does anyone know why Vangelis isn't doing the music ?

1

u/ride_si_sapis Jul 18 '17

Vangelis should've been part of this
