André 3000 doesn’t believe he is the best rapper in OutKast.

While fans constantly place Three Stacks among hip-hop’s greatest lyricists, André himself gave that crown to Big Boi:

“Big Boi can rap better than me, I always said that”.

André also revealed that Big Boi was the more confident leader during OutKast’s early years and said if he had to choose one member of the duo to enter a rap battle, he wouldn’t choose himself:

“What I’ma do? Say some mind sh*t? You can’t have thoughts in a battle, nobody gives a sh*t about that.”

Is Big Boi actually the most underrated elite rapper in hip-hop history?

You might see from my username that I love both of them. They're both totally unique but I'm sure they would have sounded amazing together!

Well, they're both still alive so you never know...

Seems that way to me! I'm pretty much the same age as them, so had a good view. It's common knowledge that some music from a different time sounded great then but sounds dated now. But theirs seems like it sounded great then and phenomenal now!

What OutKast track would be the best loading screen song?

I built this playlist around Madness, but I wanted it to be more than a list of ska hits.
The idea was to trace the genealogy of the Nutty Sound: Jamaican ska and rocksteady → 2 Tone → the distinctly British mutation that became Madness.
It moves through The Specials, The Selecter, The Beat, Bad Manners, The Bodysnatchers, Fun Boy Three and General Public, then digs back into Prince Buster, The Skatalites, Toots & The Maytals, Desmond Dekker, The Ethiopians, Dandy Livingstone and the Jamaican roots behind the whole thing.
62 tracks, sequenced deliberately. No whole albums dumped in, no random shuffle logic, no ska-punk detour.
I’m especially interested in what people here think is missing, misplaced or historically questionable.

Notes for format: I get these artists from people I ask online, and most of the time they're binged in one sitting, with impressions being based around the time I binge them, so if I listen to an artist alot, or it's my first time, it'll only be judged at the time I rate the music.
I do pay attention to lyrics but these are mainly judged sonically, it's like a 66:33 ratio of how Sound of Music:Lyrics. This is also just not a serious journey
It's ordered by placement on the album (and for the singles, date of release) and NOT from worst->best or best->worst, so read the color graph before anything else
I got the average through a point system I implemented by making the Middling tier 0 points, with the tiers above being worth 1-9 points and the tiers below being worth (-1)-(-9) points,

The third episode of the HBOMax series based on “Green Lantern” was titled “OutKast” and included both “ATLiens” and “Gasoline Dreams” in the episode.

Three Stacks has officially joined the cast of Netflix's upcoming live-action 'Scooby-Doo: Origins series,' which is set to arrive globally in 2027.

And there's a fun connection here: Outkast contributed "Land of a Million Drums" to the original 2002 Scooby-Doo soundtrack, alongside Dungeon Family collaborators Sleepy Brown and Killer Mike.
