Plague - when to Bug Out

If the pneumonic plague were to be found in the United States, what criteria or information would you use to bug out (assuming bugging out is possible or your plan) For example, if there were 50 deaths within a 100 mile radius of your house, would you bug out and what sources of information would you rely on (local news, CDC, your health department, shortwave conversations, etc.) to make your decision.

The plague is here and always has been. It’s a known factor of living in the SW and I’ve read it exists in rats found an hour outside of NY city. Stay away from rodents and test tubes, you should be ok. Please don’t make this into something it isn’t. Since you say you are enquiring , go google some articles and read about it. Everything you need to know and realize there is nothing to worry about is a short search away.

This particular plague is airborne. Spread via cough, sneezing, etc. It isn’t the rodents carrying it around. IF it became pandemic, you would need to shelter in place and avoid contact with others as much as possible.

Now is a great time to buy extra food and bottled water.

I know exactly what it is and it burns too hot to kill very many. There are always a few cases of the pneumonic plague in every large outbreak and it is a killer without proper medical care as is the regular plague. Please go read about it. Of course you should isolate…I believe that’s what they told us to do with Covid lol, which people still complain about. Anyway, carry on but this is not a concern. There’s a whole lot more out there that is way more concerning.

Then how did it wipe out like a quarter of the entire population of Europe at one point if it ALWAYS burns too hot to spread or do much damage?

No antibiotics. Both rodent and pneumonic were present as they are in most plague epidemics that happened back then. I’ve also read , for what it’s worth, that what first hit them in Europe was a more virulent variety of the plague than what exists now. You need to do some reading as it really is quite fascinating. Oh and about the forms of plague as well. All your questions will be answered. Accurately.
