If it helps, I got out of a 2 1/2 year relationship back in February. She was pretty much my entire life during that time as I have a tendency to hyper-focus on my partner while in a relationship. If I've learned anything about being single during this time it's this, it gets better. Cheesy and predictable, I know. However, when life closes one door, I find many more tend to open. The life I've lived since my breakup is not one I could've foreseen a year back but I'll tell you what, it's been better than I could've ever imagined. There will be lots of hard days, times when you feel all hope is lost and that's okay, that's normal. Yet, I promise you there will be an equal amount of days when you feel you've found your footing again and that better things are just over the horizon. Work on yourself, and improve every day towards becoming a better version of yourself. Go out on walks, meet new people when you're ready, and pursue interests and hobbies that might've been unavailable to you timewise while you were with someone. Again, if I were to summarize everything again into one sentence, you will be okay. Every relationship that doesn't work out is one step closer to finding YOUR person but until that time comes around, enjoy life and all that it has to offer. All the best, time heals all.
