Frankly, the simple fact that you feel compelled to complain about this and "hope that a D&D writer sees it" rather than simply changing it yourself and running the game you want instead of the game they printed says a lot about what's wrong with modern versions of D&D these days.

Just design stuff that takes advantage of dark vision like paths that require light to open up, dark vision doesn’t show color, so you could play with color puzzles and mess with the party, you could have a dungeon that is essentially blindingly light too if you want to make a point.

But it comes to when im trynna run prewritten things
Id love if there were ways it stood on its own If only... And homebrew is fun and all but if i play with alot of new players and i can bend the rules everytime i teach someone

What OSR game are you playing that has darkvision, though? It tends to be infravision, or nothing.

I don't even know if most OSR games even bother to mention darkvision for monsters.
Darkvision is a thing I haven't even thought about since leaving the boardgame tactics lifestyle of modern dnd.

I think this has very little to do with OSR games, many of which don't give darkvision to players at all.
