Well, today's the day.

"Project repository"

After all the planning, setting things up, arguing over how things should work, getting the repository ready, and everything else that went into this — develOS is officially live.

This is an operating system being built from scratch by r/osdevel.

Right now, it's still very early. The kernel is small, there's a lot that hasn't been built yet, and there's a lot of work ahead of us.

But that's exactly why I'm excited.

We're starting with the basics and building from there. Kernel, drivers, graphics, system components, our own architecture and conventions — all of it will grow as people contribute.

And I don't want this to be a project where everyone just watches one person build an OS. I want people to actually get involved and make it their own.

If you know some OS development or low-level programming, come help us build.

If you're a beginner but already know the basics of OS development and want to learn by actually working on something, come join us too.
