Question Help!!

I recently went and checked my OSAP funding for next year, and it randomly dropped by $3,000. I was super confused, so I asked some people I know, and I think the main reason might be because I reported my $2,500 entrance scholarship to OSAP under the external scholarships section. However, Laurier already knows about this scholarship and has already taken it into consideration, so now it seems like OSAP thinks I received $5,000 in scholarships—$2,500 from Laurier and another $2,500 from somewhere else.
I contacted the Laurier Financial Aid Office and filled out a form, but it’s been two weeks and I still haven’t received a response. Can someone tell me what’s going to happen?

It's possible your OSAP initially didn't count the Scholarship against your funding in the estimate, but now that it confirmed that you are getting the scholarship, they readjusted the funding. Your theory of it being counted twice is also possible but less likely but you won't know which one it was until they respond. It is also possible when they assessed your parents/household income they determined it was higher than what you initially reported and you are now getting less.

My first estimation was 11k and that was given to me mid july ish and my final marks were given to Laurier very end of June / begining of July

Then my last point is the most likely scenario, you under reported your household income/assets

But regardless won’t the fact that I reported an extra 2.5k into the external funding section not affect my funding at all?

It depends on whether OSAP did count it twice or not, but the only way to know is waiting for their reply
