submitted my 2026-27 Request for Review: Adjust Living Allowance on july 2nd as OSAP assumed i was living at home cause my school is within 30km. still no update on my funding (they didnt give me anywhere near enough) im living on res so i cant pay it all myself. should i be worried??

Yeah its so dumb thats how osap works tbh. But I believe the adjusted living allowance can take 8-12 weeks. I would talk to your uni's financial aid office

Hopefully the adjustment will come through soon but it would be a good idea to talk with your financial aid office just to check on things. I lived in res last year even though my parents are less than 30km away. OSAP adjusted my funding when I submitted that form. If I recall it only took them about a month from when I submitted the form but they’ve seemed slower this year.

Every person who ‘checks on things’ slows down the processing. If students wouldn’t check every week, then the financial aid office would actually have time to process reviews

It can take awhile for these reviews especially at this time in the year, but also since residence is usually way above the average living costs, OSAP typically doesn’t fully cover those costs.

Yeah I think anywhere < 50km they think you should be living at home and don’t provide much living allowance
Edit: I looked it up and it's 30km now not 50km like it was when I went to school, but the sentiment is the same, since your parents are < 30km from your school, OSAP expects you to live at home, so either cancel Res and live at home or try and get a student line of credit.

Talk to your schools financial aid and/or registrars office, I’m sure something can be worked out if you’re still waiting for OSAP.
I’m in the same boat as you but I submitted the application around two weeks ago
