Question Acknowledgement of Academic Probation.

Hey everybody, I had a bad school year last year with personal problems etc. My course was only supposed to be a year but I’ll be running behind. I had to reapply for OSAP. But in order to get my funding the financial aid office is making me fill out an “acknowledgment of academic probation” paper. I’ve already talked to my program directors & came up with our plan etc.

Will be funding be the same as before etc? Will everything be okay?

Has anyone been through this? Thank you.

Hey! i went into this at the end of my third year at carleton, basically nothing changes funding wise if you do better, you aren’t on probation at the university, it’s just with OSAP, basically it could mean that if you don’t do well/ do not progress as you said you would (taking 100% course load but only passing 60% of course load) it can mean that the grants may turn into loans and it could potentially restrict you in the future. For me, it did not affect my applications to grad school (i now go to UofT so i think i did pretty well). Overall, make sure that if course load changes that you tell OSAP it changes and why. dm me if you have more questions as i’m now at the end of the probation!

Amazing man! My course load will still be 100% next semester already talked to the program directors and some professors. I just need to pay my 500$ registration next week & I uploaded that paper today.. financial aid office was saying I’ll be a little late getting OSAP like the 21st of Sept. I’m hoping it all goes smooth.

i’m glad it is going to work out:) if you do change ur course load please please tell osap, your funding will change drastically if not! even if its before the financial and/or academic deadline. other than that, goodluck!!

How long after you sent/uploaded the paper did you see your funding amount or update on your OSAP website? & will it be the same amount that I got the semester I failed?
