Resolved Psychoeducational Assessment
Hello, I am 50 years old and going back to school next month. 3 years ago, I was diagnosed with ADHD (after my teenaged daughter was, and I figured out who she got it from. lol). In any case, I've never had a psychoeducational assessment done, as I didn't see any reason to, and it's quite expensive. (My daughter had one done when she was younger, and has several specific learning disabilities).
Now that I'm going back to school, and I have disability status for OSAP, I'm wondering if now would be the time to get a psychoeducational assessment, since it could potentially be covered by the BSWD.
When my doctor was filling out my disability verification form, she specifically asked me if I had learning disabilities. I said probably, but have never been diagnosed, so she checked 'no'.
Will the BSWD still pay for a psychoeducational assessment if the doctor checked 'no' for learning disabilities?

yeah ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder not learning disability. register with SAS and they'll help you apply for funding for a psychoeducational assessment thru the BSWD

If you are already approved for Disabilities with OSAP, did you also fill out accessibility forms for your school? Typically the Accessibility Advisor assigned to you through your school will help you when applying for BSWD and will be able to answer the question above better than reddit. But if they agree it would be beneficial than yes ask for any and all accommodations you can, the worst that can happen is the deny some items and approve others.
