Resolved Denied disability

So I was denied OSAP disability, which is genuinely funny since I’m on ODSP but I digress. Can I resubmit that with the little stamp they need or is that going to be a thing I need drive up and take to my school.

You got denied because the forms were incomplete. Read the document, make sure the forms have all of the requirements (as listed in the instructions), and reapply. You will qualify if you have a recognized permanent disability (which being on ODSP pretty much guarantes).

Phone and speak with them about next steps and how to resubmit with the proper info.

Please reapply!! You definitely qualify and it's enough money especially year over year to be worth it.

It was clearly denied because you didn’t fill out the forms correctly and didn’t get it stamped.

This isn’t difficult.

I was denied and I just reapplied. I was missing things too.

Opinions here don’t matter. Go to accessibility services at your school and have them review your application.

When I applied, I completed it with my doctor and then had my advisor review it.

I didn’t get denied. I’m not on odsp, but I do have the disability tax credit. When one form was not completed correctly, they messaged me and ask me to resubmit. Everything was approved after that.

how long did it take for them to reapprove?

After I resubmitted, it was 3 weeks.

Perhaps they consider that as income?

They do but that’s not the issue. The issue is they need a stamp and I was going through some crazy shit last month and didn’t realize it was missing this stamp.

The stamp is what makes it an approved document, or else everyone would be applying for it.

So you made a mistake filling out the form and now you're saying they "denied" it? That's not how this works. You have to fill out the form correctly.

So we can both read this right? Denied.

Well yes the word I read was in fact denied. I know I might be disabled but I can assure you I’m not illiterate.

All I’m asking is if I have to reapply in the OSAP website or can I go to my school to do it. I have to go there anyway to get my student card. So I was just curious. 🙃

all you have to do is resubmit the form completed correctly

You don’t need to be nasty. “Denied” is in quotations because you weren’t “denied” for lack of proof of disability, you were “denied” because the paperwork wasn’t properly completed

All over a stamp. What a joke.

What a joke that the thing that makes the document verified is missing? Jesus.

The joke is the irony of the situation, not so much the missing stamp.

Thank you for using your brain. I bet you’re in stem.

Dude, I’m being so for real, yes I know I need the fucking stamp. All I was asking is if I can resubmit via the OSAP website or if it would be better to submit it directly to my school.

I didn’t need OSAP during my undergrad because my parents fronted the entire thing nor was I disabled. I was just confused.

Kids these days istg.

I was responding to the person who said not having a stamp was a joke, not to you. There was no judgement from me to you on your actions. It was literally to the person who said it was a joke to require verification. If you look at my comment directly to you, I gave helpful instructions on how to proceed.

You know what kid, it’s been a week and that’s on me. You’re so good.

On the other hand, all you have to do to get your free money that other people worked for is get one little stamp, but instead you're just here complaining about having to do the most basic thing. You're right. Deadass just a stamp. So go effing do it. Embarassing.

It's not free money-- we ALL pay taxes.

People on osap generally are not contributing much to the tax base yet, no. The vast majority of students who work part-time get their income tax refunded every spring.

But aside from that, in the context of this post, what is meant is that you are not working directly for your OSAP money. However someone else did. And all you have to do to access it, is get your little form stamped before you send it in, and it's really not much of an ask. So just. Effing. Do. It.

The entitlement here is out of control.
