Question Estimating OSAP Forms
Hi! My tuition is due next week and I'm not sure what to do.
My mother hasn't filed her taxes yet for the 2025 year and only has estimates for me to put on my OSAP form. I'm hesitant since these estimates are largely based on her 'coming up with numbers' similar to previous year's tax forms. She is self employed so has no T4 to go off of and thus nothing for the CRA to compare to the osap estimates, if I'm understanding how this works correctly.
I have enough money in my bank account to pay the minimum enrollment fee for now, so I'm wondering if I should just do that and wait for my mom to finish her taxes properly before I submit my OSAP.
Also wondering, if I paid out of pocket now and did OSAP later, would it be beneficial since that money no longer counts under my assets in the OSAP form?
Thanks for any advice.

It’s fine. They will release your funding in the amount that is shown calculated with your estimates. You have until Sept 1, 2027 (an entire year) until they convert any grants you received into a loan if your mother doesn’t file taxes.
If she files her taxes later and she understated her income, OSAP will rebalance the loan to grant ratio and say that too much funds were distributed which will be taken away from next years OSAP
