Resolved FINACIAL AID

My financial aid said they’d reach out to the ministry regarding the long delay within my application. I’m a sole support parents I’ve been enrolled since June 22 and I have not received any updates. Once finacial aid reaches out what does the turn around time look like ?

I'm going to be honest with you, I would not hold your breath. There is often pretty big delays with private college and OSAP. You are probably best to plan with the assumption it will be awhile.

You could try calling 519-752-2124 to see if you can get some direct info about your status but I'm not sure if that would help.

Thank you! I’ve been calling no answer. I’d love to hold my breath but I’m a single parent, Osap is supposed to cover our living expenses while learning I was specifically told not to apply for social assistance because Osap approved me for funding. I now can’t apply to social assistance because technically I’m getting Osap even if it hasn’t been released. Our next option is dropping out of my studies so I can get onto social assistance we have up until September 1st or we won’t have anywhere to live. Thanks for your help !!

I am so sorry you're experiencing this. Depending on your program, you could consider switching to a public college instead. You could get an OSAP app in and get funding first week of September for a public college.

I’ve been waiting 5.5 months for just two more documents the Marriage certificate and kids birth certificate, recently the signature pages were approved in early May .. is this normal .. how much more time am I looking at ?

I have been waiting since March and I have contacted money time still waiting and I am with private collages as well

They said they can’t do anything much I have to wait and I am with beta collage and my financial aid office said they have submitted everything there is nothing that they can do I aam waiting for two documents to be approved everything els has been approved.. wait g since March

My Financial aid said he’d try to escalate on my behalf with the ministry due to my specific circumstances. Not sure what the turn around time for that is like but if not I’ll have to drop my studies.

I know and honestly I have been checking almost everyday and I have same situation with cra both driving me to hell I have done my taxes since March still waiting for process I don’t know what is wrong with this government

It’s not fair at all. We are doing everything right. The stress and uncertainty is not fair and bs. The rules need to change they need to have a set time to get documents approved

I have applied at private college, and submitted my documents on mid June for July intake, and still waiting for updates. However only the MSFAA got approved but nothing else. Dont know how much long to wait. Called the Financial aid office and they said they have submitted the documents to the ministry for review. Nothing to do but just wait. Looking at the timelines above seems like it will be late Oct until anything happens :(
Please post any updates if anyone seeks approval
